RNav glidepath does not engage Twin Otter

I have tried many flights and cannot get the aircraft to intercept the glidepath.  When I arrive at the expected altitude to intercept the glidepath(in autopilot) the vertical guide never appears.  I have tried this by using the ifr flight plan in msfs.  Also the same occurs when I plan the flight with the garmin.  This is new because I had no problem prior to the last msfs update.  Has anyone else aexperienced this problem?

I have the GTN 750 GPS add on https://pms50.com/msfs/  installed because I can zoom it out on an external monitor, so this may not apply to you:

1. After entering the flight plan (VFR GPS) on the world menu, I then go into the GPS and load the approach I want (but don't activate it)

2. I fly my route with GPS and the autopilot in NAV mode

3. If I've done an initial approach fix in the plan, approach mode usually activates, but sometimes I have to hit the approach button on the AP

4. the glide slope becomes active after the final approach fix (the little x in the approach plate)

I think the GPS glide slope should work even  if your hand flying as long as you activate the correct leg.

As an example: https://skyvector.com/files/tpp/2206/pdf/00125R27.PDF

3 - approach mode activates at either PLANE or HOMUV

4 - glide slope at CIRUS
