Ity seems that OPEN DESCENT function on Your Busses not is implemented.

 

When I pull  ALT KNOB and select Open Descent the sinkrate decreases and so will Speed irrespectively of setting.....

 

If not implemented it's OK as You have compensated me with fully functional Printer..:))

If you would tell us which exact version of the Bus and the sim...

But in general to quote from the manual:
 

Quote

In selected descend mode the autothrust system will be set to idle and the set speed will be kept using pitch.

Tried today and all worked Perfect with Selected Speed and Open Descent.

 

When I had problem it was in connection with Holding Procedure so I think it was no correct set-up

 

Just call it Pilot Error

 

I have friends flying other types of Airbus programs like FSLABS and FENIX but in my opinion this version of Airbus is still the best
