Breenild 3
Is there a water Rudder simulated in the msfs Twin Otter? the manual says, its linked to CTRL + w, but it doesnt work. I tried to use the brake, rudder, ailerons, but its impossible to steer. To control the plane with differential thrust IS REALLY a pain in the ass. With low differential, it doesnt react at all. I need half way of the thrust lever, to get the aircraft steering. But then it already accelerates to much, so I have to reverse to get it slower. THATS REALLY A PAIN! Now my question: Is the a kind of working water rudder? Or can you implement it? Even when the real otter does not have one, their differential thrust works more sensitive for sure!! Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted March 28, 2022 Aerosoft Share Posted March 28, 2022 The manual is incorrect in this, will correct it. And yes it is hard, but it is the only thing that is even close to realistic.
UnsealedKarma 52
Try setting the other prop in beta or reverse - then you can do pirouettes around your own axis on water.
HobAnagerik 24
Reverse thrust on one engine, with gentle forward on the other lets you spin on your axis, so I can confirm this works. Perhaps not by the book, but there you go.
