HELP! F-14X Crash to desktop, FSX Steam Edition

Hello, i bought the F-14X pack and i installed it (correctly i presume) on FSX Steam edition. The F-14 shows up in the aircraft list, but when I load it and the game starts first the scenery looks grey and the HUD looks purple, then the game loads correctly and runs for about two seconds (a big checklist appears in the top left corner) and then the game freezes and the mouse icon turns into a hourglass icon and after a while it crashes to desktop. Can someone help me solve this problem? thanks
