Stall Speed - full flaps

The manual shows a stall speed of 74 KIAS with full flaps and MTOW. However, in-game the plane seems to lift off around 45 KIAS under these conditions. Is this a known issue? Is it realistic behavior?

Known? Yes.

Realistic? Nope.

The issue is that the sim at this moment adds too much lift when they model accelerated air (from engines) over the wings. You will see the same effect on the Ju52 or PMDG Dc-6  that also lifts off too early. We could counter that by adding invisible flaps or something like that but that would mean you probably could not lift of when the sim gets an update. If you want to check this issue, use full power, 20% flaps and when you are sure you are  flying, flatten the props. You would expect a loss of speed, but not the loss lift you will see.

Been discussed with Microsoft.

Looks like several improvements (prop physics and aerodynamics) are headed our way with su 8 and 9, so maybe it's a good idea to just postpone the next update until su 8 has been released.

Will the Twin Otter be updated to benefit from the new propeller airflow modelling in SU8 presented in the recent dev stream?

When we are convinced it is a stable path to new versions, ABSOLUTELY. we can't wait actually.

It might not fly that well at 45 kts, but I've had it lift off at 45 kts on a windy day unintentionally. So yeah it can do it.

With SU6 the lift profiles changed a lot and all aircraft that have wing mounted engines are affected by this. The propeller driven air over the wings simply provided too much lift (display the lift vector arrows and you'll see it). Nearly impossible to avoid at this moment as any change you do affects other aspects as well.
