Saitek Cyborg evo Joystick buttons cannot be assigned

I have read the various threads on this discussion topic and attempted several times to reassign/map my Saitek Cyborg controller and keyboard. Changes made are not accepted.

The default settings allow xyz axis control and a small number of buttons to function e.g view, camera position. However the commands shown in the manual for a Simple Controller do not work with my old Saitek.

Not all keyboard functions work either. e.g. No Flap or spoiler movements can be controlled.

Before  spend any more time trying to assign actions, would you confirm that a new controller is probably required to gain full function of critical controls.

Exactly what error do you see? Are you sure there are no assignments that show "??"
