Aerosoft SimWare 729 Posted July 29, 2021 Aerosoft Share Posted July 29, 2021 How to Operate the knobs with pushbuttons in MSFS-SU5 A new cockpit interaction system has been introduced with Microsoft Flight Simulator Sim Update 5. This system is designed to work for the Windows version as well as on the Xbox. When you use the CRJ, you will notice that some buttons do not seem to work correctly. Example : Using the left mouse button or the mouse wheel only allows control the knobs, but not the integrated pushbuttons. However, this is not a bug. It is just a part of the new cockpit interaction system. You can switch between the knob and the pushbutton by clicking on the pushbutton part with the right mouse button. Once you have done this, you can click the pushbutton with the left mouse button once within the next few seconds, before the simulator switches back to the knob part. Before right‐clicking the pushbutton: Please login to display this image. After right‐clicking the pushbutton: Please login to display this image. Also new to the new cockpit interaction system is an easy way to turn knobs. All you need to do, is to click the knob with the left mouse button, hold down the left mouse button and then move the mouse to the left or right. You will notice that – to stay with the speed knob example – the selected speed value on the PFDs will change.

StallSpinCrashNBurn 1
If you've been messing around with options (e.g., setting up VR), you may have switched the "Cockpit Interaction System" from "Legacy" to "Locked." This setting is found in General Options >> Accessibility >> User Interface. The Description tells you which one you should use (Legacy, if you are using a mouse, Locked if you are using VR controllers.)
