TrainNutter 1
Hi! I’m wondering if it’s possible to use a real artificial horizon for MSFS / P3D Say if I get a vacuum pump and an Raspberry pie to drive it or something, could it work? or is this the complete opposite way that artificial horizons actually work? Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted June 21, 2021 Aerosoft Share Posted June 21, 2021 For sure it is possible, but I doubt the knowledge can be found here.
Emi 5161
You'd have to reconstruct the mechanics of the ADI since they are not going to work with a stationary instrument and I doubt you want to move the position of your instrument constantly to make it show different indications. For sure something that's possible but it would demand a LOT of work. It might just be easier to buy something that's already available in the flight simulation market that is specifically designed for use in MSFS/P3D and not for use in a moving environment like an aircraft. Deputy Sheriffs Herman 1591 Posted June 27, 2021 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted June 27, 2021 Emi is exactly right. No matter what your sim is doing, a desktop mounted ADI will simply show straight and level.
