Forum etiquette: Why We Close Topics

To make sure we can focus on the open issues we close topics when we feel the issue of the topic starter is either fixed or explained. This make sure we do not loose track of people who posted something that is still open.

 

Now if you added something to that post that is exactly the same issue it is most likely also 'resolved or explained' at that point.  If you posted something in that thread that is NOT about what the topic starter was on about it could be your specific issue is not solved. That is why it is so important NOT to go offtopic. Your issue gets lost that way.
