Constant CTDs - Both loading and once loaded

Ok, I arrive after a frustrating day of attempting to fly the CRJ with no joy.

Initially I could not get the plane to load, problems with initialisation that have been reported in other threads. After about 10 resets & loads I finally got the plane loaded on a parking ramp.

Since then the longest I've managed in the plane is 20 minutes before a CTD, but mostly it survives anywhere between 30 seconds & 10 minutes before a CTD. Around 30% of the time it CTDs during loading. Have tried from many different airports & parking locations, plane is set to spawn cold & dark (Set from the EFB).

I believe both models are correctly initialised, my LocalState folder looks like this:

I have followed the CTD post & have:

  • Applied all Windows updates
  • Applied all Store updates
  • Cleared out my Community folder
  • Uninstalled & reinstalled latest Visual C++ redistributable
  • Disabled Geforce overlay
  • Updated GPU drivers
  • Tried disabling Navigraph Simlink

The only step I haven't carried out is uninstall/reinstall of the sim itself. This is a last resort, as every other plane I fly in the sim works fine, including addon planes.

I get no useful info from the event viewer app log, other than this:

Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x6040b793
Faulting module name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x6040b793

I will check the dev console for WASM messages, when I can next successfully load the CRJ, will update this post.

System is:

Windows 10

10900K

32GB RAM

2080Ti

Dedicated 1TB NVME SSD for MSFS

Sim is installed from the MS Store and is not in the default location, installed to I:\MSFS\

Would be great to fly this beautiful plane! Let me know if you need any more information.

Hans is discussing this with Asosbo, but the fact the other aircraft work, does not mean a lot as the CRJ is really the first aircraft that is fully programmed in C++ and not HTML/JavaScript. So it uses completely different parts of the sim.

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same issue over here, but in my specific case the sim crashes while loading aircraft + scenery. I removed all mods and addons from the Community folder and just pasted only CRJ back again. The sim keeps on crashing. All steps above mentioned plus suggested in the forum were performed but no way to get started. I tried with different airplanes and sceneries and the sim is not crashing. Below what I could retrieve from the vent viewer:

Understood and thanks Mathijs. It was more of a comment on why I'm reluctant to uninstall/reinstall, given that the sim 'appears' to be working correctly.
