Bill Gradwell 0
Masterhawk Thanks for sticking with me to try and resolve I did a latest download of the EGLL airport from SimMarket - extracted and installed - all under administrator - get exact same almost instant error as before Have tried Mathijs suggestion before and tried again - and no change to my problem I tried to install the v4 version - here the program installs and at the end it comes up with same error as apposed to the v5.1 version that crashes right at the begin of the install I reckon there is an error with the installers Regards Bill
Deputy Sheriffs masterhawk 799 Posted January 12, 2021 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted January 12, 2021 Hi @Bill Gradwell, the setup is looking for this Registry String: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders AppData= ???? At ??? should be this path: c:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\ Please, can you check if this registry string exists? Thats matching with what A. Muegge told me today and was also his last comment in the last linked topic.

After that you can add it to the registry by double click, if it doesn't exit.

Can you post a screenshot of this summary, please? The existing folder below AppData, how is it called exactly?

Developer OPabst 2091 Posted January 13, 2021 Developer Share Posted January 13, 2021 Why is the username in the path for the NavDataPro Charts: Bob and for the ApplicationData User: billg There seams to be something wrong on your system with your Users and the Registry entries So, please check the Key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders, what exactly the name is in the AppData String below this key. You will see the name "..\Bob\.." instead of "..\billg\.." there. When you change that string, it should change the pathes in the Installer preview too. He has to solve that. But the problem existed before.
Bill Gradwell 0
Hello Oliver and Masterhawk Yes - indeed I forgot to edit the string - which I now did, restarted the PC, tried the install of EGLL again and still bombs out as before. I noticed in the event viewer the following warning: The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID This appears to be something in Windows and various users have had this issue - how to fix this - if this is relevant - I would not know?
