That part is the NDP charts. The scenery should be installed ok. Can you try to deselect the install of the NDP charts during install?

Else I have this:

Hello Forum / Support

I have not progressed with this error.

Cannot find a way to deselect the install of the NDP as the error occurs immediately when selecting the install after registration is succesful and all that good stuff

Also check the suggested clearing the temp files etc and making sure all the install is able to read all files

Running as Administrator

Prepar3d V5.1 HF1 is installed - my version that I am installing is AS_LONDON-HEATHROW_PROF_P3DV5_v2000

Please assist

continuing ......

Tried suggestions to check certain files and unmark the Read Only - but even if I aply and okay the change I get the Read Only block checked - so do not know why this is the case

The Security tab also change to allow everything - nothing Denied

I have also re-installed (Repair) the 3Dv5.1 HF1 sim program and that did not resolve my problem?

Help!

Thanks BillGradwell

I uninstalled p3dv5.1 and reinstalled fresh version (not repair) and still have the issue.

Got something to do with Nav Data Pro which I do not use - I use Navigraph FMS

Thanks for any help

Masterhawk

Thanks for sticking with me to try and resolve

I did a latest download of the EGLL airport from SimMarket - extracted and installed - all under administrator - get exact same almost instant error as before

Have tried Mathijs suggestion before and tried again - and no change to my problem

I tried to install the v4 version - here the program installs and at the end it comes up with same error as apposed to the v5.1 version that crashes right at the begin of the install

I reckon there is an error with the installers

Hi @Bill Gradwell,

the setup is looking for this Registry String: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders AppData= ????

At ??? should be this path: c:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\

Please, can you check if this registry string exists?

Thats matching with what A. Muegge told me today and was also his last comment in the last linked topic.

I will check and if not as per your post - I will change and try again

Many Thanks Bill

Attached the export of this reg string from my PC:
AppData.reg
Open it with the Editor to edit the username.
After that you can add it to the registry by double click, if it doesn't exit.

Hello Masterhawk

Have not yet tried your reg string but to say my current string is correct per A Muegge

Tried to install again and get a solid crash as it begins to install

Checked AppData and there is an NDP Charts directory

Thanks Bill

Ok, right before you press install, there is a summary screen of the folders the installer will write to.

Can you post a screenshot of this summary, please?

The existing folder below AppData, how is it called exactly?

Why is the username in the path for the NavDataPro Charts: Bob

and for the ApplicationData User: billg

There seams to be something wrong on your system with your Users and the Registry entries

So, please check the Key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders, what exactly the name is in the AppData String below this key. You will see the name "..\Bob\.." instead of "..\billg\.." there. When you change that string, it should change the pathes in the Installer preview too.

That’s because @Bill Gradwell imported my reg entry without editing the username. He has to solve that. But the problem existed before.

Hello Oliver and Masterhawk

Yes - indeed I forgot to edit the string - which I now did, restarted the PC, tried the install of EGLL again and still bombs out as before.

I noticed in the event viewer the following warning:

The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

This appears to be something in Windows and various users have had this issue - how to fix this - if this is relevant - I would not know?

Regards Bill
