SpottyMCapt 1
Does the tiller work or do we have to rely on rudder pedal steering? I was trying to use the tiller and couldn’t get it to work
Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted December 1, 2020 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted December 1, 2020 It is described in the manual how to setup the tiller.
SpottyMCapt 1
I could not find it. Which manual and on which page please? A screenshot would be useful as I have none of the manuals on my ipad and I don’t want to turn my pc on just for this.
Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted December 1, 2020 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted December 1, 2020 I think it was mentioned in Vol. 1. But not sure, as I do not have FSX installed.
Deputy Sheriffs Tom A320 4915 Posted December 1, 2020 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted December 1, 2020 Take a look into the file "Vol1-InFSX EN.pdf", page 01-03-21. Or just use your PDF readers' search feature and search for tiller.
SpottyMCapt 1
I do not have a pdf reader installed on the pc.I predominately use my ipad for day to day use and the manuals are stuck on the pc.
Deputy Sheriffs Tom A320 4915 Posted December 2, 2020 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted December 2, 2020 Well, then either install a PDF reader (e.g. https://get2.adobe.com/reader/) on your PC, or transfer the manuals over to your iPad. Current versions of the Chrome or Edge web browsers are also able to display PDFs.
SpottyMCapt 1
I have been using edge to read documents on the pc and I keep the pc deliberately light on add ons to try and improve the performance of it. Does the tiller follow the real aircraft nosewheel steering logic which is non-linear? Does it also wash out with increasing ground speed? Please login to display this image. Deputy Sheriffs Tom A320 4915 Posted December 2, 2020 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted December 2, 2020 If your "performance optimization" prevents you from accessing the manuals of the products you are using, then your optimization needs some optimization, in my opinion. Installing a simple PDF reader on a machine has zero performance impact as long you don't start it. Regarding your questions: yes (as far as I know) and yes. SpottyMCapt 1
All I have on my pc is a clean version of w10,the manufacturers software, and the gaming software. I use ipads (I am up to four) for everything else. I would be interested to hear of users experiences taxing using the tiller and their hardware set up. I would also be interested if anybody has tried single engine taxi out /in.
