MK2014 0
Hello, I've watched episode 18 of Pilot's TV (the one with a Swiss A330) and I noticed that they didn't set brakes for landing (but they did set it to Max before takeoff). I guess they knew what they were doing since they landed safely, but is this standard procedure?
Deputy Sheriffs The Dude 6537 Posted September 12, 2020 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted September 12, 2020 It is up to the crew, and SOPs in use, what autobrake setting to use. Normally I use low and kick it off when I get a feel for the distance remaining to the exit I planned for. Sometimes I do not use it when I know I have the whole runway to myself to slow down. As with anything in aviation; it depends. Landing without autobrakes is perfectly normal for the A320/330/340 Family.
MK2014 0
Ok, thank you for the answer. IIRC, in at least one case, they had a whole runway to slow down.
