CFG874 14
A319 - A330 MCDU VRB wind entry In the MCDU, the values for QNH, TEMP, MAG WIND, etc. entered. I enter the wind e.g. (270) ° / 10. For VRB 05 wind I only enter / 05. It looks like this ( ) ° / 05. Does this entry have any meaning or value for the Airbus landing? In other words - is this value used in the Airbus at all? thank you CFG874 Bernd In der MCDU wird vor der Landung die Werte für QNH, TEMP, MAG WIND, usw eingetragen. Danke CFG874 Bernd
Deputy Sheriffs masterhawk 799 Posted August 3, 2020 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted August 3, 2020 Yes the value is used and has to be entered as value. If you have a variable use the average.
G Sproson 23
When ATIS reports winds as variable, or when ATC passes it along, it usually comes in the format of "Winds 230/12, varying between 200 and 260". As masterhawk said you enter the average which is the first value given of 230 degrees.
