This is my panel. Not sure why it's doing this. Any thoughts?

Also, had a CTD.

Download appeared to go normal.

In your Prepar3d.cfg file, make sure the following settings exist:

COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1 (not “=0”)

MAX_VC_TEXTURE_RESOLUTION=4096 (not “2048” or “1024”)

If you came close to running out of VRAM on a previous flight (not necessarily in the CRJ-Pro), P3DV5 HF1 or HF2 might have automatically reduced one or both of the above settings in an attempt to prevent a crash caused by VRAM exhaustion. Unfortunately, once that happens, it then gets saved in the cfg file, and you then have to manually edit the file to put the settings back to the correct values.

I believe this could also could happen if certain font files needed by the CRJ are not installed during the initial installation of the aircraft. Possibly that could happen if the installer was not run as administrator, or if your antivirus software was active when you installed the CRJ. There should be 4 files in C:\Windows\Fonts that all start with the letters “DA” - two for the FMS, one for the display, and one for the HGS (head-up guidance display).

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked and both settings  are as you suggest.

I just edited the topic with some additional information about required font files. Might want to check those as well.

The settings that JRBarrett mentioned are correct. I'm not aware of anything else that could cause this problem.

Regardless, it is present.

Are you 100 percent sure that the four required font files (that begin with the letters “DA” ) are present in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder?

Thank you for the reply. Yes, they are present.

Note: when clicking on the panels to bring up a 2d display they are normal. Heads up display is normal.

I am out of ideas. My insight is gleaned from previous posts regarding this problem in the CRJ and Aerosoft Airbus. The most common fix appears to have been to insure that the setting in the config file is COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1.

At least one Airbus customer solved it by deleting the Prepar3D.cfg file entirely, which will build a fresh copy the next time the sim is launched. If you try that, be sure to make a note of all your current sim preferred graphics settings, as you will have to restore them afterwards. When you delete the config file, on the next launch of the sim, it will load the default F35 fighter at Randolph AFB, with all the default graphics settings that were present when you first installed P3D.

The config file can definitely get corrupted - especially if the sim CTDs unexpectedly.

I noticed today that my Prepar3D.cfg file was corrupted (half of the file was in there twice - inserted right in the middle of a section header....). However, P3D loaded it just fine.

@dbw please check if COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD or MAX_VC_TEXTURE_RESOLUTION is in there more than once. If it is, please follow JRBarrett's advice and delete the Prepar3d.cfg (create copy of the file first, if you wish).

Okay, here it is. Had no idea if there was anything in there that shouldn't be made public.

I flew for 40 years and though the last bunch of years were mainly office so I really kissed up to the IT people to keep me going. LOL.
