Prepar3D V5 HF2 High GPU usage

My Aerosoft A320/A321 is using all of my GPU memory (Radeon RX 570 4GB), even on minimum settings, default scenery and 0% AI traffic, which ends up causing OOM problems seconds after loading. I also have the Aerosoft A330, which uses less than half of GPU memory on medium settings. So I think it might be a bug or something.

Is there any way to fix this?

4GB VRAM is not very much, especially for P3Dv5. It's the minimum. Recommended are 8+GB.

Next, the A320 Series is using reallight (3rd Party tool, TFDi) that loads a lot stuff into VRAM. This tool is still in beta. Maybe TFDi can improve the memory usage until final.

You can disable reallight.dll in  the \gauges folder. But you will loose lightning in the VC.

I am also having the same issue. Pre-HF2 GPU VRAM usage for the bus was around 4.2 (with most other addons at 3.6ish). Now bus is 4.7-4.8 (other addons unchanged).

Whats the easiest way to disable the Reallight.dll?

I too am having issues with the latest HF2 release. Although with the initial P3D V5 release the bus ran perfectly well without OOM errors!

Thanks

Everything works fine forme. with HF2 release and A330. Realligth and trueglass working perfect. I run Flightsim in Ultrahigh resolution,

Use:

Fs2creww a330 and UGCX, for weather: FS Global weather. Scenery profiler. And at last TOGA without shaders. This combi works 100% With 30 fs. Everything perfect.

So, what kind of effects does the A320 have that the A330 doesn't?

I believe that the A330 basically uses the same RealLight and consumes much less VRAM.

The A330 works just fine with payware scenery and AI Traffic for me too. The problem is the A320/A321, which is using a lot of VRAM.

The A330 doesn't use reallight for the lightning. There was an other tech used, because during development we noticed, that the PBR VC didn't work well with realligth.

So how can we disable RealLight for the A320, but leave it enabled for the A330?

May I suggest you read again this topic?

All info is in this topic.

Yes I see this, but this doesnt explain it very well. Do you mean the main P3d Gauges folder, if so do I just remove the realLight.DLL?

thanks

Yes, just move to another save place or change the extension to reallight.dll.bak for example.

Thanks Bob, Ill give it a go.

Still wondering wether I should invest in an RTX2080TI, but its an expensive decision ;)

I have a 1080Ti with 9900k.

Nice combo and good to have this extra VRAM in Prepar3d v5.
