LOL, yes believe me I have tried everything!!. Even a complete format and reinstall of Win10 and V5 latest version.

I think its related to simconnect and something LM may have to fix.

I have had it now with V5, many hours trying to get things working just gets damn tedious and frustrating.

Have you checked the prepar3d forum?

Yes, been through all them too. SOme people are saying that KERNELBASE.dll error is windows related. I cant see that with mine as its a brand new install of Windows!.

Too many CTD threads on all forums for V5

I've tried everything suggested as well, and it continues to crash to the desktop...   Is there an update on a solution?

And you have disabled Trueglass as mentioned above?

Sorry Mathijs but that's wrong and a sign that Aerosoft is not familiar with the new v5 version of Prepar3D and DX 12. With DX 12 comming up it is a developement issue how much of VRam the addon will use, with DX11 it was not. For me I don't have the A330, i do have the PMDG747 for v5  i'm afraid but a friend of mine does have the bus. We both using P3Dv5 with H1, we do have absolutly the same hardware too. GraKa NVidia 1080 GTX 8Gb Vram with the newest driver. We do have all the slider and other settings at the same way. We both have LatinVFR Miami for P3Dv5 and when we start at Miami Gate F16, me with PMDG 747 and my friend with Aerosoft A330, I do have an VRam use of 4,5 GB and my friend has 6,3 GB. So it is not a question to asked Lockhead Martin but you ! And it's not a good way to send customers to onather developer before you understand the new engine right. Sorry but this is my opinion.

You're of course entitled your opinion Axel, but that doesn't mean it's correct in terms of the facts concerned.

For instance having "absolutely the same hardware" while using two different computers does by no means mean you'll get the same performance, unless you would have an identical windows version, identical programs running at the same time, use Windows in the identical way, have an identical flight loaded, etc.

You can have the same hardware and get different results due to different software. Probably even without knowing you have different software.

Unless you have the same hardware, both have a totally fresh windows reinstallation and only have a vanilla P3D you can simply not compare things.

For sure our models use more Vram than PMDG. That's because our models are just more complex and the A330 has full PBR for all texture maps.  But if it uses close to 2 gb more Vram there is something else at play for sure. The difference might be 300 mb maximum.  Fact is that P3D has some serious memory issues, confirmed by Lockheed and being worked on.  We have been in good contact with them about the memory issues and  I am pretty sure I can say we are familiar. Our modelers have been working with DX12 products close to 2 years now. We have thousands of people using the 330 in P3D V5 and with a few fixes from Lockheed it can only get better.

But somebody has done a full new install of Windows, P3D and this add-on and it does not work, the only LOGICAL reason is a hardware issue.  We do these tests weekly and simply know it should work. Some of our test machines are fully reset every two days, they are our benchmark machines, the add-on HAS to run on them consistently before we can release.

Mathijs and Emanuel,

thanks for your statements and you may be right, two same computers aren't the same in the whole way.  I'm interestet in A330 too but for now will waiting for the next Hotfix from LH and maybe VRam use will be better than.

The saga of CTD with the A330 continues I have now abandoned the product since all the wise men are not wise enough by the looks of it.

Did a total re-install twice following using the "Airbus Professional Uninstall and Reinstall Procedure (for those having issues)" article but to no avail.

Deleting TrueGlass makes no difference either.

So i will fly my other P3D5 aircraft such as the Carenado, PMDG & A2A products and maybe one day Aerosoft and/or LH will eventually have this problem solved

So for now bye bye Aerosoft aircrafts

I have the same problem V5 hanging, does not get to the start screen after installing A330, it was ok just before.

I removed Trueglass folder and rebooted still the same

P3D v5 hangs continually trying to do this see extract from Process monitor log below. ec87f1e3-c13b-4100-b5f7-8b84d54260cb} is well known for causing problems

Now I am going to uninstall A330, then repair V5 which worked last time.

I have uninstalled A330 and am running the repair of P3d V5

I noticed that both P3D V5 and A330 install MSVC++ redistributable 2015-2019.

I now have the redistributable twice (x64) 14.25.28508 and (x86 )14.23.27820

Here's the deal... people assumed that  the LM release of P3Dv5 meant a stable product ready for third party addons - and why wouldn't they?  That's how it's been (more or less) since P3Dv3.  Sadly, it's just not the case here and it's made those who switched to V5 serious, full time beta testers.

These types of issues are going to occur until at least P3Dv5 HF3.  HF2 is going to resolve a lot of issues, but in my opinion I don't think it will resolve enough of them to bring P3Dv5 to the stability level of P3Dv4.5HF3 for those who fly airliners.  GA is a different story altogether.

So, as long as you guys know this about P3Dv5 then fine, but please don't let frustration get the better of you, and if you do then please realize that every addon developer is just as frustrated but working very hard to supply what you want - and where Aerosoft is concerned please remember that we don't charge for the work necessary to update our aircraft for you.  I think that says EVERYTHING anyone needs to know about how dedicated our leadership/management is to our customers.  As a long term flight simmer myself, I'm love that about Aerosoft, the Aerosoft CEO Winfried Diekmann, and our Program Manager Mathijs Kok - thank you guys!

Thanks @DaveCT2003 for being the voice of reason   unfortunately LM did  a poor job with V5  its not just A330 that is causing issues my PMDG 747 crushes my system and even the qualitywings has some issues so for me. it is great to know that aerosoft is working hard with LM to mitigate just as we hope other developers are doing the same.

Beta tester still at work

Yesterday got V5 running again after uninstalling A330 and then repair Prepar3d Academic.

New Idea install A330 then run repair Prepar3d Academic. ( checked all  MSVC++ redistributable 2015-2019s OK).

Install A330,  rebooted, V5 did not work. Run repair Prepar3d Academic which Failed ???. End part of log below.

Uninstalled 330 then run repair Prepar3d Academic Success.

V5 now working again

From the log file it appears that A330 installer is doing some thing with NetFx472Redist which is part of  MS dot net.

Hope this helps
