Since one of the sticky posts above asked to post instances of the EFB CTD, here's my error.  Happened twice on selecting EFF and LINKS tabs.  Running Windows 10 and P3D 4.5 HF2.

Do not install any addon under C:\Program Files (x86), worst place ever, due to Windows rights management.

Update your Airbus to the latest version 1.0.0.10

I had the same problem today, I was on the EFB view (selected from the pre-selection of screens up left), and went to CTD once more.  I am surprised about the reference of not installing anything in this location:

Since I did not select the installation location myself, but the Aerosoft installer did..., why would it be wrong then? Your remark sounds confusing! Could you please clarify? Thank you.

Thank you Mathijs, but I am still confused. The advice given above is directly in contradiction of what the Aerosoft installer does, so if the advice is right, the Aerosoft  installer should be corrected. I am merely trying to be logical!? Why would the Aerosoft installer suggests a wrong locationto install the bus  is the question? Or am I totally mistaken here?

The installer picks the path that your system has at that moment as default. If that is where your P3D advise it, that what it will show. But no matter what, Program Files is by far the worse place.
You will fin hundreds of internet posts about that.

Thank you, I understand Program Files is the worst folder. P3Dv4.5 HF2 is installed on this location as per P3D installer.

However what I am referring to is that previous post from Otto, he says

My A330 was installed on this location by the Aerosoft installer. Is that a mistake, should I uninstall it and where else should I install it? For information I have a bunch of other P3D add-ons on that same location and dont seem to have any problem with them.

Interestingly (so to speak), I had another CTD this morning with the A330 due to my switching to an outside view (the very first time on that flight on the ground while boarding was in progress). It seems that it is almost impossible for me to change views with this plane. Whenever I remain with the virtual cockpit view, I can complete my flights with no issue, whenever I switch to another view, I take the risk to terminate my flight instantly with a CTD, this has been my experience so far with the A330 in the past month. Yesterday was because I clicked on the EFB mid-flight, today was because I wanted to watch the luggage loading...

Thank you for any advice regarding this issue.

PS: I am using the latest version 1.0.0.10

  • 1 month later...

So as to keep my topic updated, I re-installed the A330 latest version as advised above, and since then had several CTD, one on a flight from VTSP to LSZH when lining up with the LOC 28 at LSZH, suddenly the plane became uncontrollable ad crashed to CTD, today on a flight from TFFF to LFPO, everything fine until my descent when I switched to the FMCG to enter my landing data, CTD...  That airplane is special indeed, fortunately I have plenty of others (more complex) where my flights do end up at the gate!...

Jokes apart, I would not mind understanding what the problem is, as I mentioned tongue in cheek, several other complex airplanes reputed to me much more hungry on resources demonstrate no such problem, so I am at a loss to understand why this A330 can't reach its destinations. In most cases so far, my CTD would happen when switching to a different view, today it is when I called the flight computer view (not the first time this happens.

So any help will be welcome indeed. I know this aircraft is not finished as you correctly advertised, but this begs the question: when will it be?

Thank you for your assistance.
