KDEN Takeoff A321Pro

Recommended Posts

Hi,

today I perform Flight KDEN-KMIA in the A321 version 1.3.0.5

Activesky weather from today 12April 2020, 0033UTC

A321-231 IAE

Takeoff from Rw25 (12,000Ft / 3658m) Full Length,

and was left with just 500Ft of runway left after Vr

  • V1 140
  • Vr 152
  • V2 156

Flaps 3

Anti-Ice OFF

Packs OFF

APU OFF

Autothrottle in TOGO mode. FMA  shows mode is armed SRS and RWY.

Alpha floor protection ALMOST kicks in.

Aircraft really does struggle to gain speed now.

Climb to 10,000Ft with Flaps 3

aircraft starts to gain speed with very slight change in attitude. Like magic thrust out of no where.

Weather is:

  • - weather conditions: KDEN 112253Z 31006KT 10SM SCT090 SCT150 BKN220 21/M10 A2955 RMK AO2 SLP948 T02061100
  • - winds: 310/6
  • - temperature: 21.00 celsius
  • - runway(s): 25
  • - altimeter: 29.95

Payload settings:

  • Fuel: 15,675Kg (31,912Lbs)
  • ZFW: 69,405Kg
  • TOW: 83,337Kg

With only 500Ft of runway left this doesn't seem correct, even for this high an altitude runway 5434Ft

I have performed this flight many times before with the A321 in previous versions before 1.3.0.5,

in the same conditions with plenty of runway left to spare (normally left with 4000Ft runway spare after takeoff) .

By the end of the threshold today I was only 120AGL!!!

Is the performance data correct for high altitude airports?

It felt like engines did not have correct power.

Hello chris,

Apologies for the late reply.

Could you show up the FCU (autopilot panel) before you takeoff? The most common reason this can happen is because the altitude is not in managed mode before departure.

I do not have an image of the AP config from the before takeoff checklist but I do use FS2Crew checklists. 13,000Ft was selected and button was pushed in showing 13,000+small DOT.

I failed to enable 'THRUSTBMP' from the options before I loaded the panel state. Surely this isn't a requirement for a runway this length?

This isn't a requirement. It would still be interesting to see a screenshot where we can see both autopilot panel and your PFD in full when this issue happens.

Ok, I would just say your TOW is to high. There is also a MTOW limited by altitude, TEMP, wind etc.

Attached your  TO Data in an other calculation tool.
