Sabretooth78 56
More of a curiosity than a problem - the rendering of the weather radar varies depending on whether it is set to manual vs. automatic for a given tilt setting. Is there a reason or mechanic behind this? (Frankly, I think the "manual" looks better!) Examples: Automatic: Please login to display this image. Manual: Please login to display this image. ...and a nice comparison as the update sweeps across after changing the setting: Please login to display this image. Deputy Sheriffs Secondator 643 Posted January 11, 2020 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted January 11, 2020 I believe that it's because in AUTO mode the weather radar is scanning multiple altitudes with high beam and low beam which is then combined into one picture giving a less accurate picture rendering by painting larger area. In MANUAL mode you are directing single beam with the tilt selected which should give a bit more accurate view with some graininess as well.
