AS Updater - Folder does not exist!

Featured Replies

I´ve been downloading the new A330 and i´ve seen there was an update available. When I started the sim the following message appreared on the right side (log):

Prepar3D 4.x gefunden (found): (C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\)
Prepar3D 3.x gefunden (found): (C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\)

:
 folder does not exist!

I´m on the newest version of P3d V4.5 .

I hope that i also can fix my EFB problem with an update. Or is there any other way to get updates?

I was looking for a topic in the forum but i couldn´t find any. Hoping for some help!

You see this when the sim starts or when the updater starts?

If it is the updater it does not look abnormal. Can you see the products listed?

It is appearing on the updater´s Log.

I guess this message appears because P3Dv3 is not installed, but any path is apparently found. Don´t know why. P3Dv3 is not even installed anymore on my PC. And the path Prepar3D 3.x gefunden (found): (C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\) does not exist either. Can I fix this problem in a way? There is also no product listed (on the updater), even though there is the AS 330 professional XML file in the products folder of the ASupdater. 468829976_Screenshot(2).thumb.png.f70690dade17de4a5cb13e4a5f7569ea.png

Can you zip up the \Documents\Aerosoft\ASUpdater\Products and send it here? There is something very wrong there.

there you go!

OK, I see several propblems:

- your A330 is not update

- it is installed in the totally wrong folder

Do the following:
- Uninstall the A330 with its uninstaller

- remove any remaining folder related to the aircraft

- reboot your PC

- create a folder outside(!) P3D, named it e.g. ...\P3D-Addons

- run the A330 installer again and point it to the folder you just created

- reboot your PC

- run the ASUpdater, under "Configuration" turn experimental updates on

- update to the latest version 1.0.0.4

I´ve done that by now, still the same problem as described. ASupdater doesnt work. Also, I do have another problem with the 330 EFB, it is white and an error message appears. But I do not think this is the right place in the forum to discuss about that. Should I create a new topic regarding this issue?

Indeed my 330 is not up to date since I can´t get the updater working. (see the problem described in this topic)

There is still the ASupdater problem, even though I installed the 330 in another folder (on desktop).

I activated the experimental updates, still nothing.

I do not think there is another way of getting the new update of the 330 than via the ASupdater, is there?

TBH, then something on your system is horrible wrong and out of control of Aerosoft.

But OK, one more attempt:

- What exact version of Windows are you running?
- What is the exact pathname  of your documents folder incl. your user name?

- Have you turned off any AV Software

- Did you run the installer as Administrator (right click on the installer and choose "Run as Administrator")?

Got some news:

1. I can´t rename the users folder to get rid of the "&" sign. I´ve tried everything but it doesnt seem to work in any way. I looked for multiple tutorials on how to rename my whole PC and with that the users folder but it does not work.

2. I know what the exact problem is - and yes, it is the "&" sign on my username. When you have a look at the photo which comes with this message, you can see the "Tim & Julian" folder. This is where the 330 installer installed the files. To be more specific, here are the paths to the ASUpdater (C:\Users\Tim & Julian\Documents\Aerosoft\ASUpdater) and the General folder with all the A3XX folders (C:\Users\Tim & Julian\Documents\Aerosoft\General)

3. I was trying to copy all the data from the (wrong located) Aerosoft folder into my actual Users folder, but it somehow did not work because the message appeared, that some program is still open (don´t know but i think i have closed everything. I can double check on that in a minute.

4. I think the problem of that "Folder does not exist"-problem at the very start of this topic seems to be that the ASUpdater is looking for the Products in the "Tim & Julian" folder, in which P3D is not included (because its in the actual Users folder)

My solution: I am going to figure out if i can copy the data from the wrong created Users folder ("Tim & Julian") to my actual Users Folder ("Tim & Julian") where all the data is at.

Do you have any other solutions for me? I will be giving updates on here as soon as I have done anything that could help/not help me.

More news:

Now i can be more specific.

I have been successfully trying to copy the most data from the wrong Users folder onto my desktop into a new folder. The only thing that stops me from copying the rest of the data is any process still running in the A3XX EFB folder (C:\Users\Tim & Julian\Documents\Aerosoft\General\A3XX EFB). Could you imagine which process that is? If i could stop the process, I can just copy all data into the right folder.

more news:

By copying the ASupdater files i was able to update the 330. IT WORKED. The updater recognized the Product. Now my 330 is on V1.0.0.2

I am still not able to copy the EFB folder. let´s see if i can fix this somehow.

DONE!

I copied the EFB folder into the actual users folder now. Did the update and reeboted my PC. EFB is working too.

You can close this topic. Thanks for the help.
