A330 MCDU text hard to read

Hello,

I'm using the A330 Version 1.0.0.3.

The Text on the MCDU is hard to read (unsharp), especially the small ones.

This is also seen on a tablet using Simserver.

Are there settings so that the text is displayed sharper?

Regards

1. What size monitor are you using?

2. What resolution is P3D set to run at? (see Item #1 in the P3D Screen Shot below)

3. Can you try the graphics settings shown in the screen shot below and see how they work for you?

4. How does the image of the MCDU appear to you on your monitor?  Is it the same as your MCDU dislays to you or is it sharper?

5. Are you using any third party shaders such as PTA or TomatoShade?  If so, we strongly advise against this.

Hi,

I'm using the default shader.

Attached you can find my settings.

Screen resolution 1920x1080. Screensize is 32" for P3D, tablet 10.5".

I tried yours, but nothing changed.

Your screenshot is from the 2D-panel not from the VC, this looks for me also very good

What you are experiencing is zooming in too much on a huge monitor with a low resolution and sitting too close. The distance between your eyes and the mintor should be around 98cm.

I have a 15" 4k monitor, but when zooming in too far or getting close, it is also getting unsharp:

And at 32" the pixel size of your monitor is far bigger then on a e.g. 24" screen

Hi,

I agree, but  if you look at your screenshot the "0" and "8" of the smaller text are very unsharp even though your pixels are smaller.

If you look at my 1st posted picture, it is from the 10.5 Samsung tablet with much smaller pixelsize but the text is unsharp as well.

I'm using also the 747-8 from a well know developer, the text is very sharp on my Screen and tablet.

If you check my second post 3rd picture, it's the MCDU from the 2D panel, it looks very sharp on my screen, this is what it should be in VC.

The text on the MCDU still not good to read. Using now V1.0.0.5

On the other displays the text is very clear.

Can you improve this please, thank you.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem on A320 (version 1300) MCDU.

On iPad Pro or Samsung tablet, using Firefox or Chrome browser, same problem.

Very difficult to read the small letters.

Patrice.

Got nothing to do with the above said.

You did not read the topic fully. There is a problem on tablets too, as indicated above by GL5..

And tablet or not, there is a problem here.

Hello,

I'm using now the A330 V1.0.0.6.

I compared the "Virtual Cockpit MCDU" and the "2D-Panel MCDU" to clarify the problem.

Here you can clearly see the big differences.

If you only have the VC (and you don't know what the digits should be) you can hardly differentiate the 0 the 6 the 8 or the 9.

The screenshot is taken from a screen with a resolution of 3840x2160.

Regarding the Simserver that I'm using also to visualize the MCDU on a 10.5" tablet.

Here I can see the same picture of the MCDU like in the virtual cockpit.

I talked to the developer of SIMSERVER, but he can't do anything to improve this, because he uses what the aircraft supplies.

I don't want to use the 2D-panel at all.

I want only use the VC and the tablet for displaying the MCDU.

I think this can only be improved by Aerosoft.

Thank you.

Hi Dave,

I tried to decrease the intensity, see attached screenshot.
The numbers are drawn thinner, but still very unclear and incomplete.

Have you tried it yourself?

Are the numbers well displayed?

Are you satisfied with the way the digits are displayed?

I like to fly the A330 very much, so please improve the display of the digits, thank you.
