Support overload. We are currently seeing 65% more demand for support then we normally see. We can only assume this is because more people are at home due to the corona crises. Our complete support staff is online and they are working flat out, but it will take some days before we can scale up resources. Please be patient.

Fly the CRJ with joystick

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have difficulties to fly the CRJ with my joystick: Though I calibrated the stick and though I could not find any anomalies in flying other planes with it, the CRJ - though the joystick is in neutral Position - goes into a very high-angle climb flight which makes the plane stall after a short time. Is it supposed to be like that, or do I have to perform a special joystick calibation for the CRJ, or is there anything I am maybe doing wrong?

Regards

  Christoph

I used the information in the tutorial flight document for setting up the elevator trim.

It is always difficult to give advice when there is so little information.

No special joystick configuration is required for the CRJ.
I am using an old MS Forcefeedback2 joystick without any problems.

Questions:

Which joystick do you use ?
Which trim value have you set?

What were the weights in the CRJ-Manager (Scrennshot please)?

Hi,

I would also to know

  • which Simulator do you use? FSX or P3D?
  • Do you set up your joystick with your default FSX Settings or with FSUIPC?

I prefer the following solution for me:

Disable the Controller Management in P3D

  • Controls -> Other -> Enable Controller(s) -> Untick

Set up my Axis with the FSUIPC Axis configuration and "Send FSUIPC Axis" Settings and no FS AXIS settings

-> since this setup every problems like your's don't "catch" me again 😉

Good luck!

It could also be your PAX and Cargo loading.  Elevator trim only goes so far.

Try loading zero PAX, zero Cargo, and minimum fuel and see if you still have the issue?

The joystick is Thrustmaster USB Joystick.

In my current test, the elevator trim is set to  6.6°. That is the value shown by Dave and I took that one; the value shown in the CRJ Manager is a little lower.

My simulator is P3Dv4, the joystick calibration was within P3D.

The issue does not disappear with these values.

Zero passengers and zero cargo verly likely moves the center of gravity out of the allowed range. You should go for a normal load instead.
