Framerate problem - only 1FPS

Hi All

 

I have searched for a fix to this problem, but found nothing. Tried various things to fix it with no success. I have FSX steam Edition.

 

For no reason that is obvious, the my Airbus A318/A319/A320/A321 suddenly only runs on 1FPS. Previously I could always guarantee at least 20fps. No changes to system, hardware or software. I have tried other games and get 60fps, and within fsx on the default aircraft I can get between 50 and 60fps at any airport, default and add-on. With the Aerosoft Airbus I now only get 1FPS  at all airports. I have switched between default and Airbus aircraft to check this using the same specs for airport, time and weather. Here is what I have done so far to try to fix the issue:

 

• Verified and fixed the local file integrity through Steam.
• Uninstalled and reinstalled the Airbus
• Deleted the FSX cfg file and let it rebuild.
• Switched off all addons: GSX, RAAS, ProATCX.
• Disconnected all additional hardware, yoke, pedals, switch panels.
• Checked the CPU and GPU usage and all is fine with FSX the only app running with significant usage.

 

Got to reiterate that all was running fine and has been since I bought the Airbus s couple of years ago. Suddenly changed to being stuck on 1FPS yesterday and will not move from that. Any help much appreciated.

Andy, ther must have something changed in your environemnt. Maybe a software update (mostly Windows) running in the background. Or your AV software is suddenly interfering. Did you exclude all sim related folders from being scanned? Try to find out what had happend beteen the time when you got good fps and now. Helpfull can be the Windows Update log, the Windows Eventviewer.

Thanks for this mopperle. Ive looked through the log and there are certainly plenty of things going on with updates, but Im unsure what it is im looking for. Any suggestions? When it happened I had been adding a third audio stream which wasn't working so I restarted fsx flight. Fixed the audio but went to 1fps.

Have you looked at the task manager to see if there is any process eating up all your resources?

Yes I checked this and there was nothing. However, after it getting stuck for a very long time on 80% while loading FSX it is now back to 30fps. No idea what happened, but very happy it seems to have fixed itself!
