Cancel speed restrictions below/above FL100

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

I tried to find the answer to my questions on the forum, but no luck so far.

I flew the B738 for 5 years now, and I just switched to the A319. While I can fly it pretty good, and I followed a lot of tutorials on the internet, I can not find the answer to the following:

1) If let's say ATC, at 3000ft, gives you the "free speed" or "no speed limit", how can I cancel the 250 below FL100 limit, in managed climb? I now I can always climb in OP CLB, and speed intervene, but I am curious if there's a way to program this in the FMGC.

2) The same issue for descending, let's say you want to descend faster below the FL100 ceiling. If this restriction will not be anymore, I can assume that the TOD point will move forward a few miles. I know it is not a big difference in fuel consumption, and I can always do speed intervention. I am just curious how this can be done.

Thank you.

If you click the right-side LSK for a waypoint in the climb or descent, it will bring up a page called "Vert Rev". On that page is an entry for the climb or descent speed limit...maybe try changing that.
