Caribpilot 58
As a new users and a big fan of older airliners, I must say that this is one of the most promising projects I've come across. While there are a few functions not yet modelled, I was wondering what the future has in store for the DC-8? Will there be further updates adding full functionality to the virtual cockpit/systems? Also, any thoughts on adding an optional VC setup which has a modern TCAS and a basic GPS unit? Just a thought for those who want to fly the DC-8 in its last configuration or in the original configuration.
Developer Michael2 236 Posted February 18, 2019 Developer Share Posted February 18, 2019 There will be some further development, most of it in P3D only however, as the FSX version is at the limit of possible click spots and visibility tags. How far development will go is still an open question.
jpcambre 3
Would love to see the -60 variant with slightly more modern equipment.

I’d say that if all the systems were modeled correctly, more animations were added and there was an option for a VC with a GPS unit and a TCAS this would be a very popular product that would encourage interest in other DC-8 models. As as a suggestion, although the DC-8 cockpit isn’t particularly dirty, perhaps just a little more variation in the VC textures to add more of a “used” look would be nice. Caribpilot 58
Just a quick update, the GPS unit I was referring to are the older models commonly used on DC-8s, 727s and 707s in their final years such as the Trimble/FreeFlight 2101 or the Trimble TNL 7900/8100 Trimble/FreeFlight 2101 https://www.gulfcoastavionics.com/images/products/2988/2101approachio_plus.jpg TNL 7900/800 http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/pict15/ta7900_1.jpg http://www.bst-tsb.gc.ca/eng/rapports-reports/aviation/2011/a11h0002/images/a11h0002-photo-02.png
