Matthias Markus 7
ARR AtIS can be got within a range of round about 80 NM (Company Message). I have read, ATIS shall have a long range of about 200 NM. It would be more comfortable and realistic, if you could get ATIS before Descent Preparation Checklist, so that you are able to check "Lanfing Information received", ist it? Thanks for answering! DaveCT2003 2553
Last I knew, ATIS transmissions (including Data Link ATIS) are receivable to a maximum of 60 NM from the ATIS site and a maximum altitude of 25,000 feet AGL. That is the system spec anyway. Thinking another way, one doesn't report the ATIS indentifier to Center Controllers, only to Approach controllers (usually within 18nm of the airport). I hope this is helpful! Best wishes.
