Unable to start XP11 - message error

Hello and thank you in advance for any input.

I am new to XP, however I have been using MS FSX for several years and have quite a good experience with aircraft sim.

So, my XP11, just purchased, after install, I get a message that my Nividia Graphic needs update and XP can run without the update, as it is just a warning...

I will start XP, the loading process starts, and when finished, message comes back again and it closes, thus unable to start the simulator.

I installed directly into my C: root.

I have updated after installation

I use WIN 10 Home

My PC is powerful enough (latest)

I have no issues with FSX sim, even though I uninstalled before installing XP (mistake?)

MY NIVIDIA was updated to the latest driver and soft pack...

STILL THE SAME BEHAVIOR...

Please assist, very frustrating...

Thank you

Luiz

Hello Luiz,

can you please post your Log file from the installed X-Plane 11 folder (Log.txt) here as an file attachement?

Then we can take a look in it to see if there are errors...

Hello Luiz,

thanks for the LOg.txt.

There are many Grafic Driver errors.

I think, this is a problem with the grafic card GeForce 210.

This card seems to be to low for X-Plane 11.

As I know it only has 512 MB Video RAM.

X-Plane 11 needs minimum 1 GB Video RAM.

See the System requirements here:

https://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-11-system-requirements/

May be a driver update can help.

Dear Heinz.

Problem solved...I purchased a new graphics card and all working well.

Can you provide the last tip for me? I just want to know where I can print a Keyboard Short Cut for the X-Plane, as I am used to Microsoft FX and it was so much easier.

Thanks

Luiz

Hello Luiz,

the keyboard shortcuts you find in this folder:

<your X-Plane 11 folder>\Output\preferences.

There is a file "X-Plane Keys.prf" with the shortcuts.

You can open it with a small text editor.

  • 8 months later...

I purchased and downloaded X-Plane 11 yesterday.  I bought a brand new computer (ibuypower) and Samsung 55" tv to use as the computer screen only.  I have been an FSX user for 10 years and was ready for something different (better?).

My problem is, I can't open X-Plane 11 either through the "short-cut" on the desk top, nor the X-Plane icon.

The error message is......"The X-Plane executable is in the wrong place".

I am not very proficient at computer issues, so any advice or help is appreciated!

Thanks!
