wildeboer 3
I'm not sure but this windows error message shows up, right after i choose the crj to show up. I start p3d4 launch the standard startup and then choose the crj. it makes no difference if i choose a different airport first. a first window saying: p3d4 exe has stopped working looking for a solution. then when I press debug. An unhandled win32 exception occurred in prepar3d exe (6592)

wildeboer 3
I never changed to w10 just because fsx . Is p3d4 running on w10 better ????
Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4161 Posted February 4, 2019 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted February 4, 2019 Kernelbase errors are mostly related to a unstable hardware or a broken Windows installation. When you use Goggle search you may finf several cuases, like over clocking, bad drivers etc. In very very rare cases it is caused by an applicataion. But people tend to blame the appication where the error happens, while in fact it is only uncovering a problem with the system environment. Is p3d4 running on w10 better ???? There is definitely no reason not to use Windows 10 (Pro version). It is much more stable then Win7.
wildeboer 3
it was not my intention to blame the application. but more that all the other applications work great. Maybe you can help me with witch terms I should google. and there is 1 big difference with fsx i had payware fsuipc and now with p3d4 free fsuipc is there a possibility that not all the fsx settings removed by the uninstaller??? in advance thx for the help wil
Developer Hans Hartmann 3694 Posted February 4, 2019 Developer Share Posted February 4, 2019 The error code 0xc0020001 means "The string binding is invalid". String binding is something that can't happen in an unmanaged C++ DLL (like the CRJ uses). I won't deny that there still might be some relation between the problem and the CRJ, but it's impossible to say where and how. It can't be something that generally happens or much more people would have the issue. Right now, I'm really at a loss.
wildeboer 3
Even more strange is and maybe it helps that I had a 1month period forp3d4 and than the crj starts normal. It just occur when i changed to the academic version. Althougt ( I think) nothing changed because you only change the p3d4 client would it be a solution to reinstall the crj but not before the evrything from previous crj is gone. if so where andwhat i have to delete to make a whole new fresh instal thx for the help wil
Developer Hans Hartmann 3694 Posted February 5, 2019 Developer Share Posted February 5, 2019 Just run the uninstaller for the CRJ. It will remove everything that is part of the product.

wildeboer 3
sadly it didn't work. I think to upgrade to w10.maybe it solves the error. I try`d a windows application to solve the error.but after that p3d4 scenery loader won`t start. so i hat to restore. so if it is possible to upgrade to w10 without reinstall all programs i go for it
Developer Hans Hartmann 3694 Posted February 5, 2019 Developer Share Posted February 5, 2019 I think the problem is more complex. From testing and the feedback we get here, we know that the CRJ works in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 (up to 1809), so you can exclude Windows itself as the reason. If you have a clean P3D v4.4 (not upgraded from an earlier version!!!), it should work out of the box without anything else done. The most plausible cause is that something's broken in the P3D4 configuration. Did you try to rename your prepar3d.cfg file and let P3D4 create a new one?
