pilot-a320 15
The Anti Ice switch no matter if you turn it "on" or "off" is always checked at checklist as "off". Please for knowledge. Â Greetings Martin
ozgulkagan 18
Which checklist are you referring?  For the "Before start" checklist, you can switch it on and the pilot (your voice) will call it as ON.
pilot-a320 15
Checklist "After Takeoff" as Required "OFF". Although I have set the switch to "ON". Engine anti-ice operation: • Engine anti-ice must be ON during all ground and flight operations when icing conditions exist or are anticipated (except during climb and cruise when the temperature is below -40°C SAT). • Engine anti-ice must be ON prior to and during descent in icing conditions (including temps below -40° SAT)   Greetings Martin
Deputy Sheriffs Hanse 216 Posted January 25, 2019 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted January 25, 2019 Can you please exactly state what are your requirements in connection ENGINE ANTI-ICE and the CHECKLIST? But please keep in mind that we only cover SOP and I believe that "Engine-Anti-Ice Operation" is not belonging to it. But anyway there are some open questions which to be defined (for programming) before we can decide on implementing this feature :Â What are "icing conditions" and how those are defined? What exactly means "exist" and "anticipated"? Regards, Rolf
pilot-a320 15
Icing conditions exist when the OAT (on ground and for takeoff), or when the TAT (in flight) is at or below 10 °C, and visible moisture in any form is present (such as clouds, fog with visibility of one mile or less, rain, snow, sleet or ice crystals).Icing conditions also exist when the OAT on the ground and for takeoff is at or below 10 °C when operating on ramps, taxiways, or runways where surface snow, standing water or slush may be ingested by the engines or freeze on engines, nacelles or engine sensor probes.FLIGHT IN ICING CONDITIONSEngine anti-iceENGINE ANTI ICE must be ON during all ground and flight operations, when icing conditions exist, or are anticipated, except during climb and cruise when the SAT is below -40 °C.ENGINE ANTI ICE must be ON before and during a descent in icing conditions, even if the SAT is below -40 °C.Wing anti-iceWING ANTI ICE may either be used to prevent ice formation, or to remove ice accumulation from the wing leading edges.WING ANTI ICE should be selected ON, whenever there is an indication that airframe icing exists. This can be evidenced by ice accumulation on the visual ice indicator (located between the two cockpit windshields), or on the windshield wipers.  Greetings Martin
