Mejjo 14
Hi there, I tried to find gate 548 and select it for use but its not in the list. Is there any reason why some gates are not available for selection?
data63 421
I don't have the AFCAD here to look at but Heathrow has quite a bunch of "multiple" gates (eg 548, 548R, 548L) that occupy the same space so one of them has to be chosen because otherwise you would have a AI-traffic mayhem
Mejjo 14
I can see 548L and 548R in the list in "starting location" But cannot seem to find 548 anywhere.
data63 421
so that's the reason - the developer chose 2 smaller (A32x / B737) gates at the "548 position" instead on one large (B777, 747, A380)
Emi 5161
As Juergen already correctly said, the issue with these multiple gates systems is that P3D can not make a difference between them so it sees all three as seperate gates. And therefore it will place three seperate airplanes on them if you include all three in the AFCAD. Therefore sometimes you have to leave some of the gates out in order to be able to put other in and to avoid AI traffic crashing into one another or even into the user if he's parked on one of the gates. This at the moment unfortunately is an issue with the P3D AI engine and nothing we can do anything about.
