CTD since Update to 1.0.1.2 - Same problem back!

Sorry to get back to you guys, but the same problem occurs, that I have already reported in the following thread:

This time I can definately rule out any windows update or installation in between my last flight and today.

Here's what happend: I did some flights on Thursday, over 3 hours of flying with the A319 in version 1.0.1.1. after somehow fixing my problem, see thread above.

Then today I did the update to the newest version, 1.0.1.2. and now I get the same problem with the crashing of the Kernelbase.dll. At the moment whenever I load the airbus in whatever livery I get a crash to desktop after about 10 seconds.

Again it is the same problem, but without any updates or other changes this time. I can definately rule out any changes to the system, EXCEPT for updating the aerosoft airbus.

Any ideas or help that you can give me this time?

Windows event viewer and appcrashview is showing me the Kernelbase.dll problem, see below:

What I found in the task manager: At the moment that the airbus and p3d crashes, there is a peek to 100% GPU usage and video encoding..

Please login to display this image.

Is that maybe related somehow? Is it maybe the graphics card the is crashing because of something? I mean, I didn't change the driver or anything since Thursday.. But it seems that something is messing up something..

Is there anything unusual in there? Can you help me this time maybe?!

Thanks!

Ok, so I tried the following, posted by DaveCT2003 in a thread couple of hours ago:

I did what he suggested (reinstallation, reboots, etc.), but the same problem persists. Just a few seconds after loading the aircraft up at any airport, P3D crashes..

After that, I found a link and thought, let's give it a try -> I deleted the Shaders folder, tried again.

Same problem persists, CTD after seconds with the A319 loaded.

Ok, back to the beginning...

Next thing I did was selecting a different airport, not a payware one - so far I tried with airports from UK2000, FlyTampa or FSDG.. Tried now the standard flight load with Eglin AFB, switched to the A319 and again, CTD..

I'm really out of ideas now, because I don't understand why suddenly the aircraft is not working anymore, eventhough it was perfectly working two days ago.

Sorry you're having this issue, I'm sure it's tremendously frustrating not to be able to fly the Airbus Pro!

Can you please share the results from AppCrashView?

Hi Dave

Thanks for your response.

I included the results in the first post - it is hidden via the "Spoiler" functionality, to keep the post short.

Ah, sorry I missed that... trying to go through support requests too quickly I guess!

From the AVSIM CTD GUIDE:

Kernelbase.dll – A system file so a problem with your computer system. FSX or P3D just happened to be running when the event occurred. Related to StackHash errors and NTDLL.dll errors (see below). No known fix but some have solved this problem by:

• Updating or reinstalling their video card drivers.
• Scanning your system for corrupt/missing files.

• Disable startup programs by typing msconfig in the Windows search box. When open, look at the Startup tab and disable all startups (they are all not needed for operation of your computer).
• User Profile Corrupted – last resort, fix possible corrupted user profile.

At any rate, this is not a problem with the Airbus software or P3D, but rather a system level problem.

I recommend downloading the latest NVIDIA driver for your graphics card and before installing please wipe your graphics drivers (after that you can install the latest driver).

Hi Dave

Thanks for the fast reply.

- Updating or reinstalling their video card drivers.

I'm already running the latest one, updated them a week ago or so. There is currently no newer driver for the card.

- Scanning your system for corrupt/missing files.

Well, I will try that, eventhough I don't know what I would be looking for... Any ideas on that? How to scan for "corrupt or missing files"?

Never mind - I had a look in the AVSIM CTD guide and will try it..

- Disable startup programs

Already done. There was no change since Thursday.

- User Profile Corrupted – last resort, fix possible corrupted user profile.

I will try that

Well, I can't let that count somehow because it is only an issue with the Aerosoft Airbus and the Aerosoft CRJ :-( The other payware addons, QW787, Carenado C172, MJC Dash 8 are running without any issue.

Only since I installed the update to version 1.0.1.2 the CRJ AND the Airbus are not working anymore since today!

I will try that, it's worth a try at least.

By the way, my graphics card is not overclocked..

UPDATE: I deinstalled the graphics card driver according to your mentioned guide, reinstalled the new driver, fresh download, problem persists, not solved..

UPDATE 2: Did the file check with sfc /scannow, result: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

One of the things that irritates me is, that whenever I get the CTD, there is a NET error shortly before:

Please login to display this image.

and just after that, the p3d crash

Please login to display this image.

So I will now try to investigate in that direction a little more...

Just curious..

What .NET Framework does the Airbus or the CRJ need?

I have plenty of them installed, just went through them and thinned them out a little bit to have only the relevant and newest ones installed.

Please login to display this image.

Has anyone a better understanding of that thing? Is there a chance of conflict, if I have that many .NET frameworks installed?!

PS: Sorry everyone for all the spam or frequent messages, but this really is a pain for me, as everything was working and now it just stopped working over night.

Also I hope that this might help others then..

And that means what exactly?

So far everything is working fine, all 3rd party addons in P3D, GSX, QW787, Majestic Dash 8, Active Sky, REX, all my payware sceneries etc. except for my Aerosoft products, the Airbus and the CRJ.

Also Steam and some games are working without any problems ;)

That doesnt mean anything, as not all software needs all redistributables

vor 39 Minuten, griestraum sagte:

How do you know what is relevant and what not?

There is a very good reason that all those files are installed.

What you can try now is to reinstall all redistributables from scratch starting with 2005 up to 2017 in both variants 32bit and 64bit. But not sure whether this helps, as e.g. 2015 shouldnt be in your list as it was replaced by 2017 and you shouldnt be able to install it when there is already 2017 installed.

Well basically I made a research on the internet to find out, which of them are replaced by a newer version etc. Thats what I meant with relevant. Turns out I only had the 2015 version which was obsolete and another, older one which is not used anymore.

I did a complete reinstallation now of all the .NET versions required, so basically as you stated from 2005 up to 2017 in both 32 and 64 bit versions. Didn't solve anything, same behavior as before, the Airbus crashes just few seconds after loading it up in the sim.

I also completey reinstalled P3D now, deleted the %appdata% folders, reverted everything back, no addons except the aerosoft airbus

I will now try to go back on my nvidia driver to an older version, from may or so, maybe that's a possibility now, as it seems that the .NET issue is not the problem.

UPDATE: Ok, going back to an older driver from May (397) doesn't solve it either.

Ok, I'm definately at the end with my ideas on how to fix it.

It seems I will not be able to fly the Aerosoft Airbus or CRJ anymore but all the other products at least. Everything is working fine as stated above, but not the Aerosoft products.

Don't want to think about switching to FSLabs, but if I can't find a solution... ;-(

I would miss the CRJ though...

Does anyone have an idea what this could be related to?

Is there any module or software that might be an issue?

What module is loaded a couple of seconds after I load the Airbus? Maybe something that needs third party software?!

Anything else I can check or re-install?

Alright, tried that one also, started up with a totally different user profile, tried to fix the old one,.. no solution found, the problem persists.

The sim crashes just after selecting the airbus 318 or 319 in whatever livery or engine setup.

Also the CRJ is now not working properly anymore, same behavior, after selecting it, it crashes about 5-10 seconds after loading.

Fresh p3d, without addons, graphics to back basic setup, no overclocking,..

You are most welcome my friend, I'm sorry that we weren't able to solve this one for you here in the forums... I believe they'll be able to log into your computer (where I'm not setup to do that safely) and help resolve this for you.

If you don't mind, please keep me updated on the progress and what the fix is?

Best wishes my friend.

CULPRIT / SOLUTION FOUND!!!

Hi everybody

I have made a very, very interesting observation and I think I have found the issue now!

Here's what I did:

- Yesterday, after sending a support request, I went forward and completely removed P3D with all addons, everything and did a complete fresh installation of P3D V4.3 in the recent version.

- After that I installed the Airbus 318/319 into the fresh P3D in version 1.0.0.0. No changes were made on prepar3d.cfg or on graphics settings or anything else.

- I launched P3D and BOOM! The Airbus is working again!

- I could do a flight with it, without problems.

- Today I installed the most current update with the AS Updater to version 1.0.1.2.

- Launched P3D and BOOM -> Crash to Desktop!

- Back to beginning, de-installation of the Airbus again, removed all files from Aerosoft and rebooted.

- Fired up P3D, tried some other aircrafts and everything works.

- Back to installation of the Aerosoft Airbus in version 1.0.0.0 without updating

- Launched P3D, selected Airbus, and BOOM -> Crash to Desktop after seconds

So I thought, that cannot be the case!! I had a look into my P3D directory and found out, that RAAS was still installed and was the ONLY files, that were changed today.

So I deinstalled RAAS and removed the remaining files from the P3D directory.

Fired up P3D again, selected the Airbus (still in version 1.0.0.0.) and BOOM -> NO crash to desktop! It is working! So I figured out the culprit, it is obvisouly RAAS that causes problems!

This also explains, why the CRJ kept crashing too, as soon as I upgraded to version 1.0.1.2. because RAAS somehow might have been overwritten?!

I will now keep version 1.0.0.0 for now, as it is running perfectly :)

I'm very happy now - at least I can fly B)

Do you guys have a suggestion on that?

Any idea?

It would be interesting to have a detailed error message. Please check the Windows Eventviewer -> Windows Logs -> Applications for an entry at the time of the crash.

Hi mopperle,

see my posts above, it's already shown up there, incl. screenshots from the windows event viewer. Still the same error message, pointing into direction of .NET Framework v4 error and Kernelbase.dll error after that.

Also the AppCrashView output is there, in my first post - it's hidden via the spoiler area.

Hope this helps?!

Hi Emanuel

no worries! :-)

I‘m not sure what you exactly need, I posted the log from AppCrashView and the screenshots from the event viewer already. Do you need more than this? What can I provide additionally?!

Thanks so far for your support!!

Hi,

what I'm looking for is basically just the latest of your crashreports as the previous one did not give a clear indication regarding our Airbus.

Maybe there's something different in the new one. We are just looking for new hints as to what the reason for your crash could be.
