Weird EOD

blahhh

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Managed vertical/lateral modes engaged, FCU alt is set to 8000, current level is FL130, next constraint is 3000ft@BISBO

The EOD is drawned @ BISBO instead of somewhere just after NERAS (computed alt @NERAS is 8800).

Cheers

The problem is the f-plan discontinuity. You should first enter a valid route. You also have he gap on the ND.

The level off is just drawn on next line on the ND after NERAS.

The route is valid: LFKJ/20 LONSU 5H LONSU LONSU 6R LFMN/04L, it's an ATC Vector after NERAS

So the problem is it should be (VECTOR) instead of a route discontinuity.after NERAS.

But anyway, if I switch to HDG mode, the EOD is still on BISBO....

Ok, checked what should happen:

1. Discontinuity is the correct indication on F-PLN and the aircraft will go to present heading automatically if nothing is done by the pilot after passing NERAS

2. In HDG the blue level of arrow should be on the infinite green line, as NERAS was ~8800alt —> this is currently a bug
3. During NAV the blue arrow has to be on the flight plan line somewhere, if the  Level-off is reached before NERAS. Else it will has to be on the approach somewhere based on altitude remaining, speed and descent rate. If the Level-off is after the airport it just stays on the airport IIRC and then works it's way up the approach towards the aircraft as you get closer to the vertical profile. —>maybe also a bug, but need to be tested and looked into by the Devs.

Many thanks for your support @masterhawk

This is not correct. A 'MANUAL' entry with the previous leg heading should be right before the route discontinuity.

No, on the chart is no manual leg. Manual doesn’t appear, if on the chart isn’t a defined CRS.

As Bob says above, a MANUAL leg will only show if you have a vector leg defined in the procedure. As the chart Bob posted clearly shows this is not the case here, the arrival simply ends at NERAS.

Bonus question: what about the 'LAT DISCONT AHEAD' MCDU message? I'm pretty sure that this message should be displayed as the route discontinuity is in the flight plan and not from PPOS

Yes, this should be displayed. I added it to the list.
