HowTo 001: Migrate SIMstarter profiles into SIMstarter NG

This topic should explain how to migrate existing SIMstarter profiles to SIMstarter NG.

 

Requirements:

• Make sure that you are using SIMstarter Version 2.7.4
• SIMstarter NG version is insignificant
• FSX or FSX-SE
• P3Dv2.4 - 3.1

 

HowTo:

 

Start the Migration tool: "<YOUR SIMstarter NG>\migrationTool\SIMstarter2NG.exe".

If you've not used the installer of SIMstarter you need to select the location of the old SIMstarter directory. Select the SIMstarter root directory (Step 1) as shown at the picture above. The "New SIMstarter NG directory" will be automaticly set by the MigrationTool.

 

Select the simulator platform you want to migrate (Step 2).

 

Click "Start Migration" to run the Migration. Don't close the program until the "Migration successful" dialog comes up (Step 3).

 

Sure you want to continue. If you have already created NG profiles for that simulator platform they would be overwritten

 

Migration has been done successful.

 

If for any reasons the migration did not work. Please drop a support request at the forum and attach a Screenshot of the Logging window.

 

SIMstarter NG will be started after the MigrationTool.
