selecting an Aerosoft Airbus 1.31 crashes FSX

Recommended Posts

Since my purchase on January 23, 2018, this is the 4th time I completely reinstall (run as administrator) the Aerosoft A320/321 package following the instructions given (i.e uninstall using Windows control panel function and manually removing some folder as per Mathijis Kok comment posted Oct 28,2015, reboot, virus firewall and sonar OFF, etc ...) without installing RAAS (locked) because on the first and third installation it's rasspro.dll file was when prompted as a trusted site to run would crash FSX straight back to the desktop.

So with every installation the problem remained the same ... FSX will crash (windows will display a message that the program has stopped working, it's looking for a solution and will advise when one is found. When you answer OK FSX closes. If you run FSX without an Aerosoft aircraft (ie.: Aerosoft A320/A321) FSX works perfectly. FYI for the 4th installation I downloaded again the .zip app from Aerosoft just to make sure every possibility would be checked out.

I run on an Intel DH55TC motherboard an I3 2 core 2 thread CPU with 16GB (4x4) DDR3 (1333) RAM with a EVGA 4GB GDDR5 GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

I am now at wits end to figure out what is wrong with the installation. Attached is the FSX.cfg file for your perusal.

More of interest then yor fsx.cfg is a detailed error message. So please check the Windows Eventviewer for a detailed error message that was written at the time of the crash.

Also please tell us what Operating system you are using. Your PC seems to be very old.

Mopperle,

My computer is about 7 years old with Windows 7 Ultimate and worked fine with FSX since the beginning. Never had an issue. FSX has been bugging only since I installed Aerosoft A320/321 with or without RASS (locked) installed. I tried to attach the Windows event log requested as an XML file or a text file which both failed to upload.  So I will unfortunately paste it here. Hope this is helpful. Regards.

It looks like you have two problems:

  • SimConnect is not installed or installed in wrong version
  • the NTDLL.dll crash might point towards a problem with your graphics board driver

You need to install the SimConnect module that belong to your FSX. This must be either downloaded or taken from your FSX DVD, depending on what exact FSX version you have. Do you have

  • FSX SP2  or
  • FSX Acceleration Pack

If you have SP2 installed you can download SimConnect from here ("Instllation" paragrph, ownload link in "SP2" row). If you have the Acceleration pack installed you will find the SimConnect installer in the "SDK" sub folder of your FSX DVD.

Please install the correct SimConnect version for your FSX.

Regarding the NTDLL.dll crash please installed the latest drivers being available for your graphics board.

The version number of your fsx.exe. tells that you use the basic version of FSX which does not meet the systemrequirments form the product page. As Tom already said you must have FSX SP2 or the FSX Acceleration PAck installed

Mopperle,

I have the Gold edition and was under the impression that my FSX installation was OK. But looking at the content of the 3 DVD disks that came in the Gold edition, I now realize that I have originally only installed the Deluxe edition (2 disks). I will now install the Acceleration expansion. Once completed ... will I need to re-install the Aerosoft A320/321 package ?

Thank you also to TomA320, you guys are awesome.

Yes, follow the instructions in this post:

Also do not forget to add the highmemfix to your fsx.cfg

Tom A320,

I have now installed (run as admin) Aerosoft A320/321 as per directives (i.e: virus, firewall off so is Sonar). Yet when I rebooted my machine (cold boot) Norton removed the aerosoft.airbusx.fuelplanner.exe saying it was a threat name Heur.AdvML.B. What do I do to restore the fuelplanner app. ? Thanks

You need to install it manually. There should be an "SDK" folder on your Acceleration DVD. In there you will find the installer.

This is a "false positive" of Norton. As long as you download and install Aerosoft prodcts from official sources (i.e. update database or web stores where you bought is from) the installers are all checked for viruses.

You need to configure an exclusion rule within Norten to exclude the FSX\Aerosoft folder from scanning.

To get the fuel planner bag you either try to get Norton to release it or re-install the bus again.

There is only one tweak for the fsx.cfg really recommended. Actually it is more a must than a recommendation: the "highmemfix", which enables FSX to use 4GB RAM instead of just 3GB.
