Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted January 24, 2018 Aerosoft Share Posted January 24, 2018 Perhaps you know I have been shouting for a while now that SSD drives are slow compared to something that is just a bit more expensive, but that cost aspect is quickly changing. These are not the fastests drives but to load your sim from they are close to perfect at these prices! https://www.anandtech.com/show/12349/the-intel-ssd-760p-512gb-review That said, most people expect things to change a lot in the next few months. One thing is sure, for anything but storage a hard disk is dead and SSD's are quickly becoming the step in between that we all wanted to skip. Alexander Wurz 42
This looks definitely good if someone wants a good and relative cheap nvme SSD. Thanks for pointing this out
Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted January 25, 2018 Author Aerosoft Share Posted January 25, 2018 And we all want NVME drives because they absolutely rock for the sim. It's really a step up from SATA SSDs. If only you have no cables....
PatrickZ 300
Of course we're all dreaming about the Kingston DCP1000, which is as far as I know the fastest SSD available at the moment. https://www.kingston.com/us/ssd/enterprise/DCP1000 I mean, read at 6.800 MB/s and write at 6.000 MB/s. Regular SSDs as we got them today are somewhere between 500 and 600 MB/s so this is about 10 times as fast. But it's also very expensive. Current prices are at € 918,39 for 800 GB and up to € 2.842,29 for 3,2 TB. But let's see how much they'll cost in a few months.
