Cpt Bambi 2
Hello. I just bought the Airbus x Pack from steam, I can load the default flight plan that came with the pack but I cant figure out how to make my own. I'm using the Route finder web site as suggested in the included company route editor, what i'm stuck with is what to do with the info it gives me, I.e i'm trying to set a plan from LIRN to LIRP, it comes up with the route like this... NAT: Eastbound track message identification is 305 NAT: Westbound track message identification is 304 NATs: NATW: can't identify fix 5430 (-1) Computed route from NAPOLI/CAPODICHINO (LIRN, LI) to PISA/S.GIUSTO (LIRP, LI): 12 fixes, 250.2 nautical milesCruise altitude between FL330 and FL330LIRN (0.0nm) -SID-> TEA (28.7nm) -L995-> ALAXI (67.1nm) -L995->INSOX (74.8nm) -L995-> OKDEB (82.5nm) -L995-> PEMAR (93.2nm) -L995->TIBER (112.6nm) -L995-> GIKIN (145.6nm) -L995-> SOVAN (160.3nm) -L995->AMTEL (186.5nm) -L995-> IBRID (204.1nm) -STAR-> LIRP (250.2nm) Details: ID FREQ TRK DIST Coords Name/Remarks LIRN 0 0 N40°53'04.08" E014°17'27.47" NAPOLI/CAPODICHINO TEA 112.9 332 29 N41°17'48.36" E013°58'14.43" TEANO ALAXI 316 38 N41°44'05.12" E013°20'51.60" ALAXI INSOX 315 8 N41°49'17.99" E013°13'19.73" INSOX OKDEB 315 8 N41°54'34.42" E013°05'40.74" OKDEB PEMAR 315 11 N42°01'47.00" E012°55'10.00" PEMAR TIBER 315 19 N42°14'55.95" E012°35'56.40" TIBER GIKIN 315 33 N42°37'06.27" E012°02'55.42" GIKIN SOVAN 334 15 N42°50'05.07" E011°53'30.47" SOVAN AMTEL 334 26 N43°13'13.00" E011°36'31.00" AMTEL IBRID 334 18 N43°28'40.49" E011°25'02.55" IBRID LIRP 288 46 N43°40'57.90" E010°23'43.90" PISA/S.GIUSTO Thing is I have no idea what to do with all of this, do i simply copy and paste it into the company route editor? Normally use flight plan datadase for my PMDG and i simply download the plan and put it into the relevant folder and it works fine, however doing the same for the Airbus X even in the required .flp format doesn't work at all. Can somebody help me, I really want to fly this bird but can't seem to get anywhere.
Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted November 1, 2017 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted November 1, 2017 Hi Bambi, first of all I strongly suggest to work through the tutorial, it also explains how to enter a flight plan at all. How to get a plan out of something like Route Finder: Most tools like this give you a route string which you can enter manually in the MCDU (like in the tutorial) or you convert this route string via the Company Route Editor (CRE) into a flightplan you can load in the MCDU. A route string always looks like this: DEP airport - (SID) - waypoint - airway - waypoint - airway -....- waypoint - (STAR and/or Transition) - ARR airport, eg. in your case: LIRN - TEA (1. waypoint) - L995 (airway) - ALAXI (2. wpt) - L995 - INSOX - ....- IBRID (last wpt) - LIRP In this specific flightplan you always stay on airway L995, so the string would simply look like this: LIRN - TEA - L995 - IBRID - LIRP (this is also shown on Route Finder at the end of the page) TEA is the first waypoint after departure, so you have to find a SID (in case there are any, depending on the airport) that ends at this waypoint. Also you have to find an approach procedure starting at your last wpt IBRID leading you to your arrival airport. So you can manually enter this route, or you copy the string "LIRN TEA L995 IBRID LIRP" into the CRE to create a file that can be loaded in the MCDU. There is one thing you have to take care of. The navdatabase in your Airbus and the flightplanning must be on the same version! The Airbus comes with AIRAC cycle 1511. If you have not bought a subscription for actual AIRACs you have to chose the same cycle in the flightplanning tool. As Route Finder always uses the latest one, choose the one that fits to your aircraft.
Cpt Bambi 2
Ok thanks that's cleared a lot up, I've gotten afar as starting the aircraft up from cold and dark, I've always been a bit slow when it comes to MCDU/FMC's , loved learning my PMDG777, this is my next one. Thanks again.
Cpt Bambi 2
Sorry to ask again but i still cant get this to work, I've set the Airac to 1511 and copy and pasted the route string into the cre and saved it, but when i attempt to load into mcdu it just says not in database, but the file IS in the flight plan folder along with the tutorial flight plan, I can load and fly the tutorial flight plan but no matter what i do i can't get my own plans to work. Cpt Bambi 2
Ok I've got it to recognise the route file in the flight plan folder but no waypoints are loading, I'm doing as you said earlier about setting airac to 1511 and copy and pasting the route line but I'm having no luck.
