But you are not involved in any commercial work other than beta testing?

I'm free. Mathjis, can I get in on the Twotter beta? It should be a great test of my new quad core pc that just shipped yesterday. :D

Very good news to see the Twin Otter so nicely modelized. Hope it will be available soon.

I have a small request for this plane:

Could you please make the virtual cockpit with NO F...g 3D buttons in the radio stack so that it will be possible to have different radios or GPS arrangment using third party add ons (RXP for example).

I believe FSX gives you the possibbility of multiple VCs as this is a different MDL than the airplane. It could also be a possiblity to have a flat radio stack as an option to those willing to play with radios and GPS.

I try to put a screeny of a panel I made for FS9 from pictures I took myself.

Many thanks for your work and your understanding

Not a bad idea and it should not be hard to implement.

BUT let me tell you we are including a very extensive KLN 90B GPS (programmed by Don Kuhn) that might be all you need. It's not a large screen GPS but it has some very cool features and is very accurate (heck the manual is about as big as for the rest of the systems). We are also using his KX165A VHF Nav/Com Transceiver btw, so all your navigation needs are pretty well taken care off. We'll also do a model with the old style radios, as shown by the attached image (you got to be logged on to see that one)

A popup 2d GPS would be certainly possible, but I assure you, getting to learn the KLN 90B GPS that is included takes a few hours but is far more fun as it is far better system wise than the default GPS's of FSX.

BTW, we got the paint kit ready so if anybody would like to start painting even before we are in full beta.... let me know here. Of course, should we use your paints (and you allow us to use them) we will make sure you get full credit and some goodies from our download shop.

Two very good news in one message:

- Two good stock radios arrangements

- The possibility to use other radios and GPS with a "bare radio stack"

Many thanks Mathijs we just now have to sit and wait for the release...

(Before christmas would be realy great!)

PS: Your modelling of this aircraft is totaly amazing, congrats!

Paintbrushes at the ready... need an Antarctic Survey skin for the UK survey team? Or Maldives floaters (two local companies)

Spec and bump no problems, using the self shadowing too I trust?

YES! The Maldivian Twotters would be great! If nobody will do them I think I could give them a try. But I´m no specialist in repaints.

OH and I have some pics of the TMA version.

And here´s one of the cockpit:

Plenty of Twin Otter shots at airliners.net too...

I think I still have a tentative contact at TMA for interior shots - well, it has been a few years and he may have moved on, but I could always speak to them.

The Otter seems to have been painted all over the world - I just scanned airliners.net and was amazed at the huuuuge variety of choices for us painters.

You have my e-mail address Mathijs

If you follow my two links in my response above (we are not allowed to display airliners net photos directly here) you'd have seen two different Maldives Twotters

Hey Algernon, sorry, but those images are way way way OTT for even us users with bigger screens.

1000 pixels wide is enough, but yours are over 3000 and really make following this thread useless.

Oh - I nearly had a job with TMA... the blue and yellow ones... servicing Twotters there would have been fun, but also hard work as Mathijs points out with all the holes in the "dash" - spares are at a premium, so they fly "close to the knuckle"

lol, if we would deliver the cockpit like shown on the images we would be slaughtered...

 thats true! But that one is even worse than the worst one I´ve seen at the TMA Twotters (the yellow / bue / white ones). My pic shows a rather old one. But sometimes I had the feeling that some of the caution lights will never get dark!
