Had a great few days in Tokyo. The crew is suffering a bit so it was good to have time to chill out, relax, walk and explore this great city and its surroundings.

Next leg NE to Obihiro, Tokachi.

Initial approach to Obihiro in driving rain,

Initial approach to Kamchatska, UHPP. ATC just told me ILS is unserviceable. Glad it's VFR or it would be an NDB job...even here this would make me sweat.

This is a freezing, lonely place. And there'll be more of the same tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that as we head for the Aleutians and Alaska. Brrr!!!

This picks up just turning left base. There were vicious gusts on short finals - that's my excuse anyways - and I had to plonk her down firmly without any hold off at all. Those big flaps can be a liablity in gusty conditions.

I'd probably have made a better fist of it with just two stages, but we walked away.....

Sorry there's no sound.

Dutch Harbor to Sitkinak Island. The Loran station was decommissioned in the 1970s I think, but until recently AFAIK the runway was serviceable.

Delay here to get tyres replaced - Passepartout seems a bit detached at times but it was thanks to him we organised to get these shipped out beforehand.

Here we are on initial RNAV approach To KSJC, San Jose, Ca. Landing charges at KSFO were steep, too steep.

Flight from KSJC to KASE uneventful.  No photos available due to flat battery.

KASE to KFWA, Fort Wayne, Indiana:

On DME arc for intercept ILS Rwy 32. Not particularly welcoming we thought..

Just landed, flaps up, hunting around for correct taxiway. Passepartout, for all his Gallic charm is really hopeless as a co-pilot.

Early morning departure from St John's, Newfoundland.

Long flight over water with strong crosswind - not what I had hoped for in view of fuel.

VFR conditions at Flores, Azores Islands, otherwise it would have been an NDB app with CTL.

Turning base for Rwy 17, deliberately high.

Parked at Cascais. Excellent Aerocondor Flight School here which I personally have used. I am hoping to persuade Passepartout to take a trial lesson.

They have a large fleet of beautifully maintained C172 and C182 trainers - at least they had the last time I called in in 2014. It's a bit quiet looking today....:(

Thanks for organising it all, Mathijis.

I just about managed to find time to do the flying, hence the absence of anything much in the way of a story or comments. Sorry about that.

I did manage to make a short film on 24th Nov of the approach and landing at Attu Island, AK.
