Dangerous Beans 0
Hi, As LM are trying to get users to install add-ons outside of the main folder I've been trying to do so and have found that it works really good with most planes I've tried. It keeps everything nice and neat and makes updating P3D without disturbing add-ons really easy. The one exception seems to be Aerosoft planes. I tried installing the PBY Catalina to my add-ons folder and at first it wouldn't install as it couldn't find FSX (odd, standard error message I guess) I was able to get round that by putting a copy of Prepar3D.exe and FSX.exe in the appropriate folder "G:\Games\Flight\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Aerosoft" It Installed OK and I'm able to select the PBY in the menu but when I load a flight with it P3D crashes. It seems to be caused by the ASC.DLL because if I comment it out of the panel.cfg's it loads OK but of course the plane doesn't work as intended without it. Is there anything I can do to get it to work or will I have to install it the old school way in the main P3D folder ?
Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted June 27, 2017 Aerosoft Share Posted June 27, 2017 From this moment on our installer will support that option for aircraft (not for scenery as changing the order of scenery is not yet solved). I do not know what could cause the issue you reported. Have you tried to manually move the file and edit the addon.xml files?
Dangerous Beans 0
I just tried re-downloading the installer again but still get the same error. It works OK if I install to the main folder just not to the add-ons folder, it also doesnt work if I copy it over manually and my add-ons.xml is correct as per the sdk All other planes from other publishers work fine. My P3D is installed to "G:\Games\Flight\Prepar3D v4" and the add-ons folder is "G:\Games\Flight\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons" and has various sub folders for each publisher. The event viewer error after P3D crashes is as follows Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 27/06/2017 18:58:51 Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Win10 Description: Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 4.0.28.21686, time stamp: 0x594a7255 Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.14393.0, time stamp: 0x578997b5 Exception code: 0xc0000409 Fault offset: 0x000000000006d5b8 Faulting process ID: 0xcc0 Faulting application start time: 0x01d2ef6eb93da502 Faulting application path: G:\Games\Flight\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\ucrtbase.dll Report ID: 9679454f-9457-4691-a968-92eff97df924 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2017-06-27T17:58:51.270940800Z" /> <EventRecordID>53843</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>Win10</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data>4.0.28.21686</Data> <Data>594a7255</Data> <Data>ucrtbase.dll</Data> <Data>10.0.14393.0</Data> <Data>578997b5</Data> <Data>c0000409</Data> <Data>000000000006d5b8</Data> <Data>cc0</Data> <Data>01d2ef6eb93da502</Data> <Data>G:\Games\Flight\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data>C:\Windows\System32\ucrtbase.dll</Data> <Data>9679454f-9457-4691-a968-92eff97df924</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> </EventData> </Event>
