ENGLISH:

Background:

FlyInside is a Virtual Reality software for FSX/P3D that uses different configuration files. Therefore SIMstarter NG was unable to manage this until version 1.4.5.

Requirements:

  • SIMstarter NG > 1.4.5 rev. 01
  • Install FlyInside first
  • Run FlyInside without SIMstarter NG and make sure everything is working fine

Step 1:

First of all you need to make sure that NG does not validate the filenames of the configuration files. This is a safety function that users do not enter the path of fsx.cfg in scenery.cfg field. In this special case we need to avoid that function.

Go to Settings > Program settings > General > Uncheck "Validate file names in platform settings"

Please login to display this image.

Step 2:

Choose the right path for "Path to prepar3d.exe" and "Path to prepar3d.cfg".

Please login to display this image.

Path to prepar3d.exe: Need to point to FlyInsideP3D.exe located in simulator main path
Path to prepar3d.cfg: Need to point to prepar3d_flyinside.cfg located in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\PREPAR3D v3\prepar3d_flyinside.cfg

Step 3:

Replace the RunItem "prepar3d.exe" which "FlyInsideP3D.exe. You need to add "FlyInsideP3D.exe" and delete "prepar3d.exe"

Please login to display this image.
