VOR 1 and 2

I am a newbie to Twin Otter  extended. I am having trouble understanding how to use two VOR at the same time (I like to use both to know where intersections and route changes are etc).  The systems manual is unclear on this information. Can anyone give guidance please?

 

To be specific, how do I properly tune in VOR 1 and VOR 2 and get the ident signal?

 

It seems when I have vor 1 tuned (on the tuner, other times it seems not to work) and I see speed/distance on the DME readout I still cannot get the ident sound (using buttons on top of the stack or the ident button on the tuner). ADF ident works ok with the ADF button (on top of the stck).
