Mario Donick 271 Posted August 17, 2016 Share Posted August 17, 2016 One regular issue coming up in support is that people updated their X-Plane purchased in Steam with the installer from x-plane.com. After that, X-Plane keeps asking for a serial number and won't start. Please note that if you are using the Steam version of X-Plane you can NOT update that version with the installer from the web site. Steam itself takes care of keeping the version current. If you update it with the web installer, it will transform X-Plane to a DVD version, but as you don't have a DVD, it will not run and ask for a serial (which does not exist).
