Scheme Error

Hello,

 

I know this has been reported before but, the thread is closed and I can't see a solution posted.

 

I have been using Simstarter for some time now and have just 'upgraded' to the NG version.

 

I installed NG, closed it, then ran the migration tool. It reported the migration as successful.

 

I then ran NG which gave the following error:CRITICAL ERROR: Scheme file Program settings corrupt

 

I closed NG, restarted the computer, the same thing.

 

I am running Win 10, P3D v3 and only purchased and downloaded NG a few hours ago, it is version 1.1.01

 

Any suggestions please?

Hi Dave,

 

in general this error can be caused by a faulty installation. Please try the following:

  1. Uninstall SIMstarter NG
  2. Reboot
  3. Disable your Antivirus
  4. Install SIMstarter NG into the default directory C:\Aerosoft\SIMstarter NG
  5. NG will be started after installation - close it
  6. Restart NG again

If this works you can try to enable your Antivirus again.

 

Please take care that you are using all characters of the license serial.

Hi Pero,

 

Thanks for replying and the guidance.

 

I followed your procedure and it worked fine. NG opened and had the migrated profiles from my non NG version already installed, I did not migrate them again. Then, after stopping NG and restarting the error was once again back!

 

I did not turn on the antivirus, which is MS Defender by the way.

 

Any other suggestions will be gratefully received.

Hello, did it like you write, get also this error with 1603 and P3Dv41  :

 

citical error ...  scheme file programsettings corrupt, cant run simstarter ng

Hi Jens,

 

as far as I know there was a bug with 1.6.0 rev. 3.

Please update to the latest version 1.6.5 rev. 3 by using the AutoUpdate function.

 

This should pop up if you open the program. If not please double check if this setting is done right in C:\Aerosoft\SIMstarter NG\data\SIMstarter NG Settings.ini

checkUpdates=True
