F-14X and F-14 EXTENDED?

Featured Replies

I just recently (yesterday night) downloaded P3Dv3. I have been reading some of the comments in here and I was just wondering I have the F-14X which I purchased 11/2/2015, is this version not compatible with P3Dv3 or do I need to get F14 Extended version now for it to be compatible with P3Dv3. I have noticed that I am unable to get an external view of the aircraft using the F14X version that I had in FSX. The aircraft flies well but I am guessing that is the one compatibility issue. I was reading about qualification for free upgrades to the Extended version. Does this meet that criteria. I did purchase this aircraft from the Aerosoft Download shop on 11/2/2015. was just looking over my addon email folder to check for this information.

The F-14 Extended is just the new name for the latest patch for the F-14, if you re-download from wherever you bought it you will have the update. From what I know it is compatible with P3Dv3 but I don't have that platform myself so I can't say for certain, though I haven't seen any (or remember) problems with external view like you are describing on the forums.

thanks for the response, I will go and redownload it from the Aerosoft Download store again and see if it works, the download link I have in my email might be expired though.

Thanks again, I was able to download the 2.01 v that says F14 Extended and it showed the option to select P3D v.03 and the external view displayed as well. The lighting shadows worked to! I happened to notice that the rear view mirrors work as well! thats a cool little extra feature they added. I was quick installing the F14X version for FSX that I didnt pay attention that it said P3D v.02! Just now figuring out that TacPack from VRS simulations requires a seperate purchase to get that going as well! Kind of grimey of them to not make it compatible with P3D that you have to pay for another different version just for P3D. But that is all good I was never a heavy TackPack user in FSX. Never got around to learning how to use it with the F14X! I can get that later on down the road! Thanks for the info!
