Recently we have seen a lot of codes used to unlock our products being offered for discounted prices. Almost all of them are bought using stolen credit cards. These codes will all be blocked by our systems and you will have to try to get your money back from the seller, we are unable to assist in these matters. Do be very careful when you see a deal that is almost too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.

Hello Aerosoft group, you want to do all varieties of the real A330 engines have, which are GE and PW, for the RR you are already developing, and will have the A330-200 version GE, PW and RR, and also A330F freighter version? From already thank you very much and hopefully so. ^_^

The answers you are looking for are given in the very First Post. Please refrain from asking this again unless you've heard otherwise from Aerosoft themselves !

Cheers

Small friday update: After a small sidestep task, work continues well on the A330 texturing preparations. Thats really another caliber than to texture a smaller airliner. But most stuff has been done and hopefully the painting fun can start mid to end of next week to bring out the final looks.

But i wont let you go without an image today: It was very hot in my office the last weeks, maybe that inspired me to the combination of those themes and colors...

Hi, just a small and impertinent question, would you mind telling us how many texture files will be covering the entire fuselage? and what size are they going to be? I reckon that the more texture files you use for the fuselage, the better it'd be, seeing we will have a better pixels/square meter ratio, meaning better resolution, better decal seeing... etc.

Greetings, and deeply looking forward to the release of this modern marvel!

The quality of the final textures on the plane depends a lot on the skill of the developers. The pure number/size of the files does not matter a lot.

For example you can achieve a better quality with less files/resolution if you manage to get a better order in the objects contained in the texture files and thus get more objects painted on the same files.
We have seen some developers doing 4096x4096 textures, but then only placing very few objects on them keeping lots of space free which wasts a lot of resources.

The A330 uses 3 x 2048er textures for the tube from nose to tail. You can make em larger of course, but then the demand per channel texture raises with by factor 4 (for a section we got 3 channels at least), that is not only memory size (remember we work here only in 32bit) but also texel fill rate for the graphics card (the projection of the pixels transfered from the 2d pictures to the 3d mode for final rendering). There is only a limited amount possible and when you remember that this aircraft has to function nicely and mainly at large airports then you have to hit a certain SWEETSPOT where the optimum between rendering speed and detail is reached. You can easily overshoot here and get into problems....

Is it legal for a man to marry a plane 'cause I'm in luuuuuuuuuv. Great job.:D

In Japan it's legal :D

But... how do you want to invite her in a Restaurant?

You are right Emanuel and Stefan; obviously increasing the amount of files depicting the fuselage will not necessarily improve the resolution of the plane. The idea is to take the greatest advantage of all the area in the texture file, thus increasing resolution without compromising performance, as it'd happen with larger files, and a larger amount of files.
Just one last request.. Would you mind giving us a small snapshot of those texture files? :D
Greetings

Whats next? That Google safe search flagges this forum thread as porn?

I just tried it, and it did not do this for me.

If you are trying to search from a company, school or organization it may be possible that's why it's being flagged. Some countries also require Google block or warn both Google and Google Safe Search users  of different websites, but none of this has anything to do with Aerosoft. It could also be an error from the Google Server you are being directed to.

If it continues, you may wish to contact Google.

Best wishes.

I was just joking, but thanks for the insight anyway :)

To give a clear statement to everyone who thinks that creating a double account to post insults, spam or just downvote other users is a good idea:

You might not be aware of it, but we moderators have a close look on all activity in this forum (visible or invisible to you). And we have a couple of means to clearly identify double accounts (not just from their IP address).

Double accounts will be banned without any further notice and the least harmful thing that will happen to the original account is a warning. But most likely it will get moderated or also banned immediately.

This statement is off topic in regard to the A330, but clearly on topic to certain individuals stopping by in this topic over the last hours.

Stefan if your hot in your office get a towel and dip it in cool water. After that just squeeze the towel to the point its damp and place it over a fan, it's pretty much a primitive AC but it helps. Sadly my dorm doesn't have or allow AC so I know how you feel.

Great pic waiting for a side pic, I really like what you did for the 320 putting 3D windows on the side hope you do it for the 330 which i'm sure you will.

As soon as the 330 is released I would love it if someone can make a private jet livery for it. Always wanted to have my Corporate A333 but wasn't able to find any good planes for this!

Please don't start a livery discussion in here. There is a livery request topic available for the A330.

This project is looking phenomenal. Really excellent work all-around, based on what we've seen. Very excited.

Aerosoft are getting rather good at Airbuses, I think we can trust them to deliver with the A330. Which begs the question, what follows?  Three major candidates are on the runway, the A340, A350 and of course the A380.  My money is on the impressive A380.
