I think the rain effect is more of a immersion package thing, since the power of each computer to render these effects depend on their configurations and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of different versions, people should be able to pick if they want it or not. If we get a A330 immersion it would be cool, however I personally think that it shouldn't come as default. FSFX packages seem to have a really good effect but its w.i.p. you can take look at their video on YouTube:

You do realize that video was an April Fools joke right?

Hi Mathijs,

Since in real life Airbus has started to produce the next generation of the A330 series, "NEO" -800 , -900 versions. Regarding pictures and tech sheets I googled, a lot of the A350 technology, such as wings, engines and cockpit..., will be adapted to the A330 Neo. Can we expect Aerosoft to develop such a product in a near future or perhaps make upgrades to the current model. Any inside discussions about it ? Cheers

Hi,

not Mathijs, but I can tell you the answer nevertheless ;)

It is rather simple: Give us the data and customerbase and we'll do it.
Customerbase - is rather slim as people buy what they see or fly on and only few people are also interested in other types

Data - Flighttesting hasn't even begun, not to talk about having pilots with experience on type at hand which is absolutly mandatory to do a proper addon.

I don't even need the latest and greatest aircraft in real-world commercial service right now. I just want solid, realistic aircraft that a competent developer put some time, brains, and heart into. Aerosoft has done that with the busses and a very, very select few of other developers have done that with other aircraft. While I guess we'd all like A380s, 787s, NEOs, Sukhoi SuperJets, etc., I'll be happy with anything that's done well.

Very much I wait for this fine plane! Will become fine replenishment in a collection. I will fly distant flights from Sheremetyevo for Aeroflot)

I would still fly DC-3's because I like the whole rudder and stick thing...but it'd definitely be nice to have an A330 at my disposal.

Sorry if this has been answered before (couldn't find it using the search function) but will your aircraft feature the Brake to Vacate or Runway Overrun Protection System that are available as options on the A330? I know the chances are slim, but asking never hurts ^^

Short answer is no in this case. The RW reference aircraft does not have it and it is "just" an RW option that not many airlines use at the moment.

Hmm... doubt it...

Has this even been made available as an option on the A330 yet?

I mean, if Airbus has as recent as Winter 2016, (which I take to mean Jan, Feb, Mar this year) has been testing this equipment on their A350 planes.

At the end of the video it says 2015 for the A330, so I guess there is a possibility of new aircraft flying with this system, its also available for retrofit, so older airbus can be fitted with this system as well.

That wasn't my point.

Is the system in use today?? I don't care, that it can be retrofitted to older aircraft - of course it can...
Since it was tested as recent as a few months ago, is it in use today? Who's currently flying with etc...

That was the bedrock of my consideration regarding to Aerosoft modelling it...

Its only modeled if their reference plane has it, clear answer to that was already given before your question.

As to who flies it today, probably Korean.

Google is your friend here and let's leave it at that ok? Feel free to open an ROPS topic in the general section.

Thanks
