Hello,

Sometimes an (older) installer cannot see the correct X-Plane 10 root folder.

So the message appears: "Please choose the correct X-Plane folder"

Also if you have choosen the correct X-Plane 10 Root folder.

A way to solve this problem is:

Open a terminal.
Then into the terminal go to the X-Plane 10 root folder.
Here put in the commands:
mkdir X-Plane.app
touch X-Plane-i686
touch X-Plane.exe

This is working with linux and shall work with Mac OSX too.

I read with interest what you write about MAC system but does this apply to Linux mint 17 Rosa as well.  In linux a popup window claims it's missing the Autorun file iam can't find my DVD so that I may add Global Areas on one of my 8 DVD's.  What to do???

Yes, it shall work with Linux too. But only if the installer can run and don't find (see) the X-Plane 10 root folder.

I am not a Linux expert...

But may be there are missing libraries...

As I know you can check it with the ldd command...

But may be other Linux user cam help here in a better way....
