LANTIRN zoom function?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Really starting to figure out how the lantirn works and I really enjoy it. The only thing that confuses me a little is that it seems that the lantirn is zoomed in quite a lot, is there a zoom function?
Also, I was a little confused about which key is the recentre for the lantirn? The landing light home switch doesn't seem to do it for me.

Amazing update!

Thanks,

Peter

Peter,

The zoom function for the LANTIRN is a located with the radar controls in the RIO pit, it should say FOV and have either have position marked as wide or narrow (or something similar).

The landing light home switch from what I recall re-centers the radar controls rather than the LANTIRN (something to do with the way the camera is moved I think) if you need to recenter it switch from ATTK or whatever mode you are in to a different mode then back again.

Cheers

peter, have not seen the LANTIRN function outside of the different set FOVs as mentioned above. As you know in the VRS, you have the "Zoom" LSK along with Wide and Narrow FOVs. The IRIS A-10 LANTIRN only has a Zoom IN/OUT, no set FOV. Again all limited by the visual draw range within FSX.

Peter/Victory; the FOV is set directly by TacPcak and we've selected the two ranges that match up with real specs we could find on the system. Also as Josh notes, you can choose from 'wide' or 'narrow' FOV via switch in the RIO seat, and this applies to both TCS and LANTIRN (though they each have different FOV's).

I'd comment on the home key function, but Josh nailed the explanation.
